She hopes to go to art college as art is her passion. Her father is a fine artist and graphic designer so it runs in the family. I called the man that owns this studio and told him my 13 yr old was interested in a class and he said he worked with teens. My daughter has mild autism. She loved her first class and created a wonderful pencil drawing that looked similiar to the instructor's drawing. I brought her back the following week. The owner asked me to have my daughter wait in the car. He brought me inside and told me he would no longer see her as she has special needs. He discriminates against those with special needs and will not teach them. I hope that if you choose to go to an art class you do not choose to go here. He teaches hate. We certainly don't need more of that in this world. Many of our greatest artists have special needs. Thankfully teachers didn't turn their backs on them.

From the minute we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The space was beautifully designed by the owner, Liz, who was a soft-spoken, sweetheart of a human being. She walked us step by step through the process of creating our candles from selecting the vessel it goes in, to selecting our scents, to assembling it. My daughter and I have never experienced anything like it. We enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end and left feeling as though we'd spent the day at the spa. We were both super relaxed and smiling from ear to ear. But the studio's owner (I believe her name was Liz) was patient and knowledgeable and made this such a fun experience. She made me realize that candles don't always need to smell like fresh laundry or a lady's bathtub! I landed on a blend of various woods and tobacco. The result was a delicious, masculine scent. Less candle, more MANdle. It smells like it belongs on a mahogany desk in a study -- one with lots of burgundy leather and vintage books where someone might drink a glass of bourbon after a long day of doing man stuff.
