At BIMA, they provide quality education that not only focuses on martial art techniques, but also discipline and respect (for the instructors, the facility, the experience, and one another). The instructors are great with kids. They are firm, but gentle. They seem to really care about each student's success. And, as a result, BIMA kids are really engaged in their education. I had individuals kick at the knees with power and some commit to flying knees when they got frustrated. I ended up leaving earlier than the full class schedule because having two different fighters not knowing control decided to get frustrated and try to hurt their partner. As someone who provides for his family, and who knows control in the ring, the same respect wasn't shown from my sparring partners. In the end it's partially the fighters, but it falls on the coaches to maintain a safe environment for those wanting to train effectively and safely. Anyone can throw power, but ego fighting is the stance at this gym.
