The staff are very friendly and helpful with any queries you may have, and the security staff are strict but fair. The arts center often has widely-known music acts playing there including the killers, the strokes and placebo, and it is well worth keeping an eye on the website for upcoming shows whether you are local or not It is usually well worth the journey to see your favourite band or comedian in such an intimate and beautiful venue, particularly when the usual ticket price is so cheap!

Who could forget the weekly Harry Potter-style dinners on Fridays, wine receptions (how can you possibly complain when your uni. encourages wine consumption and even provides it for you!), ice cream bars from the dining hall, dinner parties on the lawn, and the Pembroke Blues! Oh and the locals staying in Pembroke that complained all the time about the "loud American students" (not me, I swear)...even they were great. Unlike Tom E. who may have found his college (Christ's College) "as dull as watching the shopping channel on 'screws and bolts' day", I can say I have nothing but love for Pembroke!

Stantonbury School it is a total different school from what I have been told or read. It is very easy to spot all the improvements from outside . Moreover they take very seriously and work hard to tackle Bullyind and Implement a positive and good environment for learning so all the Students feel safe! I have never been a fan of uniforms so this was a good thing. The school is over subscribed and many are trying to get into this school. You can attend if you are in catchment or you can apply as an arts student, go for an interview and you may get lucky! We live within catchment but I would have chosen this school as a preference anyway. My kids did really well here all three attending 6th form and going on to further education. I like the teaching style where young people are encouraged to be themselves and take an active part in their learning process. There is also a large music centre on site where kids take their musical instrument lessons. Music plays a large part of the campus life. There is also a resident rock school which runs weekly sessions and also a 'three days of rock' event during holidays. The campus is made up of the school, leisure centre and shops. The University of Hertfordshire design gallery is a fabulous architectural building with a full…read morefront made of glass. There is regular exhibitions throughout the year with fantastic artists showcasing their work. The artists also hold talks based on their work. There is a new cafe with some funky chairs and table which makes a nice environment to have a coffee and chat/work. It is part of the School of art and design where it links many of the workshops and rooms together. The design gallery also forms part of the final degree show of the students in their final year where they showcase their work to show family, friends and industry.
