The staff was unwelcoming and unfriendly--no one greeted us or smiled. The entire experience felt rigid and unpleasant. This was my second visit to Wyrick Dermatology. I first went in 2020 and now clearly remember why I never returned.
The staff member who brought me back never introduced herself and was abrupt and rude. Dr. Wyrick was equally dismissive. During the exam, he froze three spots on my face without discussing limitations of my insurance beforehand. When I asked which moles were being tested, he refused, stating he didn't have time and that my insurance only covered one procedure--something never explained prior. He used air quotes when referring to the visit as a "checkup" and told me to make another appointment if I wanted testing.
He was arrogant, condescending, and abrasive throughout the visit. I am four weeks postpartum, and his demeanor made the experience especially difficult. Unfortunately, he appears to be the only local dermatologist who accepts my insurance. read more
