Currently…read moreit is severely understaffed, dirty, and at times the staff put patients in charge when they take their break. It is a very depressing place now and has not survived over the years well. Patients are left without using walkers only to fall and then paramedics must be summoned. The facility and staff need a real overhaul. It is far from a top facility in SLO. Now, it's dropped to a 1. I'm so sorry for the patients safety.

Finding a place like Bob & Corky's was an answer to prayer. All the staff were competent, patient, helpful, and very accommodating about visiting times. Providing round-the-clock care can be an arduous task, but you wouldn't know it when seeing everyone's positive attitude. Joel and company also did a good job of providing activities, walks, and outings, calibrated to each resident's personality and physical abilities. I have a relative who has run several board and care homes, so he knows all the things to look for, both good and bad. He gave Bob & Corky's top marks when he visited. Based on my experience, I would recommend them without reservation.

Did a 3 week stint here, was transferred after spending a week at Sierra Vista. I was going through…read morecancer treatment, and was trying to do everything on my own*: I was living alone, driving myself to appointments, doing all my grocery shopping and errands, etc. As the chemo built up in my system and I lost my appetite and sense of taste, I kinda stopped eating, which caused one of my daily prescription meds to build up to a toxic level. My body and brain shut down, and a welfare check called in by family got there just in the nick of time! Everyone at Mission View was so wonderful to me. Very special and caring folks. I took advantage of every therapy offered to me: physical, occupational, speech, and cognitive. When I was admitted I couldn't walk unaided and didn't know what year it was, but when I was discharged I was almost back to normal which I think surprised everyone! The food is fine. Eat as much as you can if you want to be released, you need the strength. It's a rehab facility, not a restaurant! Treat the staff with kindness and respect, and you'll get the same in return. They work so hard! I had a total meltdown one day where I was crying a lot and not working very hard in my sessions, and my therapists were so kind and gentle with me. My PT Tim let me sit alone in the courtyard with a cup of coffee for a while after our session, and my OT Stacy offered me a shower instead of working on more challenging activities. Nurse Rubi hugged me and assured me I'd be going home soon, because my brain was still foggy and I told her I feared I'd never get to leave lol. I could go on and and on, but in summary - if you're going there for a relatively short time to get strong again after an accident, incident, or surgery - follow the rules, respect the staff, eat the food, don't skip any of your therapies, and I can almost guarantee you'll have a good experience. It'll be tough some days, especially if you're used to living alone like I am, but you'll get through it. Stay positive! (*I'm staying with family now while I finish treatment, they're taking me to my appointments and making sure I'm eating well, so I likely won't end up in rehab again. I might stop by to say hello to everyone who helped me though!)

It's an older facility, but the care and staff there more than make up for that. We found all the nurses and support staff to be excellent. They were all very attentive to my aunt, and did not hesitate to order testing to make sure that she was recuperating well. Her wound care nurse, Amanda, was excellent and kept me well informed of her progress. The social worker, Janice, was very helpful and made the whole process easier. My aunt's only criticism was regarding the housekeeping staff, it sometimes took hours to get their bathroom cleaned up (one bathroom is shared by 4 patients). I was very pleased with my aunt's care here & wouldn't hesitate to use this facility again.

I met up with Nicole who toured some of the facilities with me. We were able to find a great place for mother in law, and my mom. It can be overwhelming to know where to start. I didn't know where to even start looking, how to know what facilities had what amenities. This company saved me hours and hours of research and knew which places would be options for us immediately. There was never any pressure to do anything, and I didn't pay a dime for any of it.

They were consistently on top of providing the best available facilities to view for my mom and her particular needs. They assisted every step of the way and made the process of selecting the best home for my mother a smooth and great transition. A few months ago we needed to find a good memory Care facility near Santa Maria, California to…read moreaccommodate our 90 years old Father with Alzheimer's disease. After visiting several places within Central Coast of California we found "The Oaks at Nipomo" to have the best of everything and a great memory care program. We were impressed with the highly knowledgable staff, efficient quick communication and a beautiful new facility and furnishings. We are very happy that we found The Oaks at Nipomo and were able to put our father in good hands. He loves the food, is happy in his new room, and all the staff treat him with respect and patience. Erika Hampe (Community Relations Director) was our point of contact for The Oaks at Nipomo introduction and familiarization. She did an excellent job and was a pleasure to work with guiding us through the process of how to get our father into the right level of program. Erika did an excellent job getting answers to all of our questions and making us feel comfortable with the decision that this was the right place for our father. Gene Hipol , the Compass Rose Resident Service Director, really sold us on moving our father into the Oaks memory care when we met with him to get an in depth view on how the program will work with our father as well as the other memory care seniors. Gene has assembled a team of med techs and clinical assistants that are top notch professionals. The emphasis of the staff is communication, kindness and patience to the seniors, each one being at a different level of needs. One great part of the program is to keep the seniors active so they are not left sleeping all day. Gene and his staff have been great with getting us settled in and makes sure the staff is available to help with medical and hygiene issues. The medical techs and staff know each person, monitor any special needs, which most of the have. Gene has created a great mental care program that our father and the other seniors really seem to enjoy. especially the food and staff!

We moved my mom into The Oaks in March 2025. They advertise that they have Memory care. Whenever my…read moredad visited he saw nothing of the sort. They have no medical staff at all. They kick my mom out 2 days shy of a month. Three weeks after being kicked out she passed away. My dad and I blame this institution for the rapid decline of my mom. This is one place you need to stay away from.
