Loved all the green space, trees and adjoining large park! I was worried this park would be too crazy and not natural being next to Storybook Land. I was wrong! We had a big spot with full hook-ups. (The water was only on at part of the campground and the bathroom/shower building was closed for the season.) We walked across the park to Storybook Land and it was open (no gates). There wasn't a soul there. We walked around and took photos. (Obviously no rides.) Best theme park experience. :) read more

Wylie Park Campground - Campgrounds Near Me - Aberdeen, South Dakota

We stayed in the North Campground. It is definitely the more quiet, less busy part of the park. It's about a 7 minute walk to the entrance of Storybook Land, if that's what you're into. Also next to a large grassy field which is perfect for playing with pups. I didn't use the restrooms so I can't comment on those. Landry facilities were clean but tiny washer/dryers. Pull through spots are long, but we had spot 115 which wasn't level - ugh. Also, I know they can't really change this but we had a huge issue with black flies. I've never been to a Campground and has 20+ flies swarming my door as soon as I exit. I killed so many black flies in the 3 nights we were here. Another thing I wish I could change is this: PLEASE AT LEAST require staff to mask while working. I understand you can't force customers but you can be responsible and keep your customers safe by requiring staff masking. read more

Beautiful campground with tons of grass and a lot of trees with shade. During the summer months this place is a madhouse. Every space is overpacked with to many vehicles and camping equipment spilling into the roads around the campground. The staff seemed to be fairly nice and accommodating, except for a few girls who are very passive aggressive and bitchy. Overpriced for what you get here. I would only recommend this place for a weekday stay for a night, and don't park near another space near yours otherwise the staff will bite your fucking head off. read more

Stayed one night on RV spot. Very nice park. A little expensive but lots too do since it's close to Storybook land. Would be fun to stay a weekend with kids. read more

Had to change our plans because of the PANDEMIC they still charged a cancellation fee. Not impressed.

WHAT AN AWESOME CAMPGROUND AND STAFF! Our cheer and dance team came to Aberdeen for a competition and our original hotel reservation was dropped by another hotel in town so in a pinch we called Wylie Park Campground to see if by chance they had any cabins available. They went above and beyond for our teams! Not only did they agree to help us in a pinch, they opened 9 of the cabins they had already closed for the winter, provided bedding and towels for showering for all 45 of us, and they made sure we had portable heaters if we needed them. They made us all feel very safe and warm after a very long day! The compassion they showed to us was unmeasurable and we could not say thank you enough!!! The entire staff went the extra mile for us that night and we will be forever grateful! My family and I plan on camping there next summer for sure! I recommend Wylie Park Campground to anyone traveling through the Aberdeen area! Excellent service, I'd give 100 stars if I could! read more

Nice clean campground. Full hookups are nice. Sites are long enough with additional parking. Downside, the speedway is near by and kind of noisy on Friday nights. Walking distance to Storybook land for the kids which is free. Go karts, bumber boots and mini gold nearby. Will stay there again. read more

Enjoyed our stay at Wylie Park/storyland. Kids had a great time. Campground was good, could have use some grounds work, and there needs to be a better plan for visitor parking. But otherwise great time. read more

Clean, reasonable prices and lots to do make this a favorite for us!!! I wish it was closer to us but well worth the trip!
