Check in was very easy and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. My room had hot water and the AC got nice and cool at night. The fridge didn't freeze what I put in (fortunately) and the microwave worked just fine. Also had no issues connecting to, or staying connected to the WiFi. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but there were always a bunch of cars parked near its entrance, and the locals I was working with commented that it's very good. The only drawback for some could be the lack of elevator. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. No, it's not a big city high rise hotel, but it for right in to the small town vibe without compromising service.

Of the multiple rooms our group stayed in, all but one had a noticeable mildew or mold smell. There was visible mold in the bathrooms, every room had broken or loose bathroom fixtures, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The pool area also appeared to be poorly maintained and was not as clean or well-kept as expected. The Wi-Fi was very slow, and several of our room key cards repeatedly stopped working and had to be replaced. Based on our experience, the property is in need of significant maintenance and better housekeeping. I wouldn't choose to stay here again until these issues are addressed.

With a crew of 9 guys staying 2 1/2 weeks with different check out dates you would think the check-in would be difficult, these girls made it a breeze. From Tara the general manager to Marsha and Destiny, they answered all our questions and provided us with beautiful rooms. Alanis always made sure we had everything we needed, and even did a custom schedule for me showing which guys were in which rooms, on which floors, which checked out on certain dates, this girl was on top of it. I've stayed at quite a few Marriott properties throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and All along the east coast, this girl is an asset to this Marriott property. A friendly staff, a clean, room, a comfortable bed, hot breakfast; outdoor bbq, and the pool, jacuzzi; and gym definitely did not hurt either. A big thank you to Everyone at the townplace suites Aberdeen for providing us with our home away from home. We will always hold a little piece of South Dakota with us in our hearts as we leave and go back on our journey to the east coast.

The rooms are a great size, perfect for extended stays and my team had nothing but good things to say about theirs as well. That said, the late-night front desk service could use some improvement. When I arrived to check in after a long day of travel, the front desk employee answered a call on his personal cell phone and made me wait. Once he finally checked me in, he clearly saw my status, but there was still a noticeable lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. Not something I normally make a big deal about, but the timing made it stand out. Breakfast is your typical hotel continental setup, but with a nice selection and consistently fresh, hot coffee which I appreciated each morning. One thing worth mentioning: this is the first hotel I've been to in a long time where employees weren't wearing any kind of uniform or even business-casual attire. Everyone was dressed extremely casually, almost like fellow guests. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable. On the positive side, the daytime front desk staff is fantastic and super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Despite a few quirks, this is still a great option in Aberdeen. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I can't imagine staying here during one of the many many months when it might be snowing. On the plus side, the staff was nice. No add on charges for parking, and the scrambled eggs at the included breakfast were quite good. Several options for food and coffee within walking distance. My bed was fine. No weird smells and mostly quiet.
