This place is great and possibly worth a drive from miles away just for the shopping experience. In my case, I was coming back from a yummily fishy seaside shopping expedition with some mates, and we stopped off here (based upon the rec of the dude driving us) for veggies, sauces, salad .. whatnot. I was really blown away with the selection (prices weren't bad either). I imagine in the summer and autumn, when the crops are coming in, that Secrett's is a veritable feast for the eyes and a foodie's dream come true. I'll be back!

Whenever I have sought advice on plants it has been freely given by the very helpful staff all of whom seem genuinely interested in the plants and the well being of their customers. Notcutts in Bagshot has a great pet shop with a resident giant rabbit and many hand tame birds such as parrots and miner birds which are able to fly free in the shop. This makes for a unique experience and a sure hit with the kids. The animals all look well cared for and the staff seem to know their stuff. One let down is the aquarium centre. Here, in contrast to the pet shop, the fish do not look to be in such good condition. In fact, on my last visit, there seemed to be several fish in several tanks that were either dead or clearly unwell. It may have been that these were hospital tanks but there was no indication that this was the case and in any event it seemed to be isolated fish that were affected. The cafe is great and reasonably priced. The Christmas Exhibition (starting in late Oct!) is worth a visit in itself!

Though it's a large place it's somehow isn't very impressive and though I've been there loads of times I don't think I've actually ever bought anything. The plants always look like they've seen better days and could do with a water. There's an acquatic centre and a pet shop - I've never felt that the animals are well looked after and the signs up everywhere saying that they won't refund you if your purchase dies when you get it home are a bit of a worry. It was really a surprise for me, since I didn't expect the beautiful Christmas market, the amount of people during a weekday and the amazing delicatessen where they offer so many tasty products, all of very god quality. I don't give it 5 stars because of three things: we were disappointed we couldn't get into the ice rink due to the amount of people, they don't have a proper bicycle parking and, even though at first I was excited about seeing the reindeer, I think animals shouldn't be kept locked in such tiny spaces. Reindeer are herd animals that migrate through extensive areas. It was a bit sad to see them. Anyway, the rest of the place is very cool. We bought some Christmas decorations and some things for the plants, and had delicious pies. Really nice place.
