This station's premise is "Live, Local, Now" is a sick joke. How many stories take up the mantra of…read morethis station? 20%? 30%? Guess? As to to the anchors, most if not all of them have only a rudimentary knowledge of proper American English usage much less its practice. Words such as fewer and less, a singular person introduced as they or them is routinely butchered. Putting an antecedent and the sentence subject together is routinely misused. Oh, and let's not forget the " and myself" constantly thrown out by a morning anchor. This routinely misapplied pronoun in place of me is indicative of grammatical ingnorance. Then the reporters routinely follow their seniors with the same errors. I'm not sure when these youngsters received their degrees but they should be ashamed of their grammatical usage errors. And then there is a particular weather meteorologist whose patter is primarily filled with sentence fragments, along with "a little bit of some" followed by numerous graphics designed to overwhelm the viewer. But mostly I find fault with the station manager for not realizing these grammatically unsound glitches, much less fixing them. Now, I realize that the majority of viewers aren't aware of these mistakes, much less understanding them. It's not their problem. Most of these viewers are grammatically ignorant. And why wouldn't they be? An English Teacher.

If I could give zero stars I would. I tried to contact this station, which claims to be a part of…read moreour community. I was greeted by a recorded menu, which is not uncommon these days. The problem is, it gave me the choice to speak to the station director. I punched that number and it took me to a hold for about 15 seconds and then hung up on me. I called again and pressed the extension for director of programming this time. Again, it put me on hold for about 15 seconds, them hung up. Finally, pressed the number for general voicemail. This time I got a message that said, "we cannot connect you to voicemail." It then promptly hung up again. In the end, I got the hint that they have no interest whatsoever in hearing from anyone in the area. I did end up calling Sinclar Broadcast Group, which owns the station. I spoke with them about the inability to reach anyone at WCIV, or even leave a message. As one of the last generations, age 62, that even watches TV, I want to thank this experience for finally pushing me to tje point of cutting the cord. I watch the internet much more now anyway, and will finally join younger acquainted, who have laughed at my cable bill for years. With 5 televisions, three DVRs and 2 digital adapters, by cutting television and king Internet only, I will cut $250 per month from my budget. Thats a $250 per month raise. I'll take it. Thanks ABC/Disney and especially WCIV. ​​​
