He says he's not responsible for any damage that he does while shoveling snow on the roof. Refused to pay for repair and how else would a roof vent be damaged if he didn't hit it with a shovel. read more

Alair Homes Georgian Bay

We hired Alair Homes, Georgian Bay in May of 2015. We had just purchased a waterfront property on…read moreGeorgian Bay and the home and property needed extensive refurbishment. The project lasted approximately 15 months. Justin and Mike and their entire staff did an outstanding job. Their excellent communication, workmanship, professionalism and attention to detail is second to none. We had to obtain six minor variances from the Township before we could proceed with the project, and because of their preparation, adherence to the rules, and knowledge of the requirements, we were able to obtain all variances and proceed with our project. Throughout the entire time Justin and Mike, together with the rest of their team worked diligently to complete the project. They always went the extra mile. We have done many renovation jobs over the years, but working with the Alair team relieved the stress and worries typically associated with such a project. We would not hesitate to recommend Alair Homes to anyone needing renovations or new builds, and we would certainly hire them again for future projects. Dan and Diana Lawrie Tiny, Ontario

I hired the company to fix a leaking crack in my basement. The company came in and made a mess of…read moremy basement. granted it was an unfinished basement I was able to clean up their mess. After they did their work, within a month my basement started leaking again. Regardless of countless emails back and forth with Greg, he refused to make things right and live up to his warranty. Instead he offered another service of his for 4 times the cost of the original work. I wanted Greg to live up to the companies guarantee, however after he agreed to refund my original money. He stopped all communication with me, and has yet to reply... for over a month. This whole thing has been going on for 9 months. Unacceptable. Do not even call this company, it's not worth your energy. Sample of one of Greg's emails: "Steve you paid 1000 dollars for a crack Really think about this I told you we would reimburse your 1000 with the other proposal we gave you why don't you get other quotes from the work and then talk to me I don't know what your looking for here but get other companies in send me there quotes and you will see for your self I am not responsible for your bathroom so get that out of your head cause it does not make any sence I gave you a solution gave you a reimbursement of your money so what are you looking for" ------- In regards to the bathroom, please see the below emails about being covered: Hi Greg, I wanted to follow up as per our discussions for the repair work done today. The crack that caused issues wrapped from one side of the basement starting in the laundry room, behind the bathroom, and into the rec room and adjacent wall. Work was performed in the Laundry room and one wall in the Rec room. Patch work wasn't performed behind the bathroom wall, however as per discussed, please confirm the warranty covers the wall behind the bathroom as well. I would like to question why the patch work wasn't continued along the adjacent wall? And if deemed unnecessary, would like to confirm that it is indeed included within the warranty. If not, I would like to inquire as per why the patch work was not done on this wall considering it was 1 continuous crack. From our discussions, this was included in the quote as it didn't matter how long the crack was. Thanks Greg, I appreciate the work done here. Steve --------- Greg's response: Hey Steve as stated you are covered thank you for using us and any questions please just ask Regards Greg ---- Clearly Greg cannot be trusted.
