I went to Riggleman's office after experiencing back pain all week that wouldn't subside. To his…read morecredit, Dr. Riggleman is extremely knowledgeable and very good at what he does; however, I was disappointed in my visit and the services that he provided. Every chiropractor I've ever been to has always adjusted all parts of the spine: neck, upper back and lower; however, Dr. Riggleman only adjusted my lower back, and the rest of my visit consisted of a brief consultation and ten minutes of electro-stimulation. This wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't my second complaint. Once again, every chiropractor I've ever been to has had two payment strategies: insurance and self-pay. If your insurance covered chiropractic, the doctor's office would bill what they saw as an adequate amount and then accept whatever the network discount ended up being. Those without insurance usually paid a flat, reasonable fee somewhere between $20-50 dollars depending on your area (sometimes more if X-rays were necessary). My visit ended with a bill of $145.00 and no self-pay discount. I paid triple what I normally would at my previous chiropractor's office (in New Jersey) for 1/3 the adjustment and 1/2 the electro-stimulation time. To cap things off, whereas most chiropractors give you the old "come back three times a week" pitch, Riggleman told me he wasn't going to recommend that I come back, as if one lower back adjustment was going to miraculous cure me of all lingering pain. Given that he took my case history, he knew that this was a problem that crept up on occasion, so I guess he just figured out ahead of time that I wouldn't return at his prices.
