Vanderbilt provides a lot of useful services to its employees, and I encourage you, if you are en…read moreemployee, to have an account with the Vanderbilt University Credit Union. I have been a fan of this small place since I started here. You can set up automatic deposits to an account here every payday to accumulate a savings account pretty easily. You can have a savings or checking account here, as well as a Christmas Club account to help you save for the holidays. They also offer auto loans, home equity loans, and refinancing options, as well as many other options. You get a lot of the same services offered by big banks with better services and usually better rates. And you have payments deducted from your paycheck directly. They also have credit union ATMs located around campus. Some of the downsides are that you really have to take money from your account, from either the main branch or their own ATMs, to access your money. This may be a pain for some, but the fact that I have to make a serious journey to get these other funds keeps me better at saving personally. And the service here is great. Its not the most technologically advanced credit union you'll find but as an employee at Vanderbilt it really is something great to have to help save extra money or get loans. I wish I could do all my banking through here personally.

Every time over the few occasions I would visit every few months, Amber possessed terribly rude customer service skills and never truly helped me. I would have to seek guidance from the other employees I knew were experienced. However, now I've only been able to deal with Amber and I don't like being rude but let's just say she is the one and only reason I'm leaving Wilson's. I would advise to avoid the location she works at because you won't get the help you're looking for.
