She did an excellent job of explaining the process, and she and the other director were always there for us during the viewing, the funeral, graveside services. When I got back the bill was 3K higher. I asked why it was higher and they said that was the price all along and I must have misunderstood them. I didn't even have money enough for flowers. A friend bought them for us. It was terrible. I was over a barrel. The plot was in the adjoining cemetery. Everything was over priced. They weren't helpful at all. I suppose it was because I was from out of state. When I did my due diligence, the company that owns this place is under constant litigation for unethical and criminal practices. The number of cases is as long as my arm. Most of my family is buried here. It used to be a great place. This new company is interested in nothing but money. They know you have very few options when it comes to this type thing. It was the worst experience of my life. My dad bought plots there years ago, like back in the 60s. I am going to sell mine as soon as I can get the paperwork settled. I never ever want to deal with these people ever again.

A loved one passed in August of 2021 and we were referred to Smith Mortuary where we purchased a…read morehead stone in September of 2021. We were told it would takes long as March or February of 2022 to get all the materials in. My instructions to them was whenever they made the head stone to call me so that my family could be out there when they set it. After a whole year passed still the headstone wasn't ready as I had called repeatedly over the months on its status but always got excuses from they only had temporary help to it was too wet outside and many more all the while communicating that we needed to be notified so we could meet them out there when they set the headstone. In November of 2022 I called on a Friday asking the status for the headstone only to be told it had been set out the day before. Angry, I asked why hadn't I been informed like I repeatedly told the office manager when they were going to set the headstone? Then naturally gave one of her many excuses over the year in that she was off that day and told them to set it in place without informing the family. So because of her we never got to see the setting of the headstone like we told her. Then me not believing her on the date she told me of the headstone setting I called the cemetery to see when the headstone had been set, only to be told that it hadn't been set on Thursday as the office manager said but had been set earlier in the week on Monday or Tuesday. I would not recommend this company unless you like constant excuses and lies upon lies.

We were immediately greeted with smiles and we were shown the types of stones available and allowed to look at a variety of designs. We were even allowed to customize the stone with small details that my mother would have liked, all at a very beautiful and at an affordable price. The staff was super courteous and talked to us like we were old friends. We shared stores of family and great memories with one another; it was a very comforting experience. The staff was very professional and courteous, but what got me was their humanity... through this entire experience... they made me feel like they knew me and my mother.
