After 15 minutes of them trying to call people the guy with the pony tail said he can't release the car until they received payment, but they had no way to accept my payment....makes sense right?! Eventually the guy said he could write down my CC number and run it when the machine was working. So being in the business I am in I know that this is not following PCI compliance which I know a national company like Mavis follows. I received no receipt and really if you think about it they never actually "received payment" considering my card wasn't run anyway. Makes sense right? This place has gone downhill since Mavis took over and what happened today was unacceptable. Now on the hunt for a new, local repair shop. Anyone have any suggestions in the North Port area? This place is not managed correctly and the people working there don't have a clue, except the young kid at the counter who tried to help, given the circumstances.

My neighbor warned me about Buck's, but I went anyway because of their loaner car program. They…read morewere keeping my car for several days, and I had to get to work. I needed a new radiator, but they also replaced the perfectly good original electric cooling fan with a cheap aftermarket. This replacement fan had a terrible vibration which caused it to roar like a Harley every time it kicked on. I took it back, and they replaced it with one even worse! It was so loud, that I could barely hear my radio! Then that fan failed me while I was on vacation. The mechanic who replaced it told me that whoever installed it did not put in all six mounting bolts.He left the two hardest-to-reach bolts out, which caused the loud vibration. Replacing that thing cost me $480 and screwed up my vacation. I'll never go back to Buck's again, loaner cars or not. I'll simply take time off from work if the next repair requires it. I should have listened to my neighbor!

When they finally got to me, they started to work on my vehicle and realized they didn't have the correct oil for my engine until they had already drained the oil. So at this point, I'm stuck there. It took over an hour and a half and I didn't leave there until after 5:30. The worst part, they didn't offer any type of discount for the inconvenience. Needless to say that my wife and I were late for an event that we needed to leave the house by 5:30 for. In the entire time I was there, they didn't do anything else to my vehicle. Didn't check the tire pressure, nothing. I've been to the Take 5 in Port Charlotte and never had an experience like this. Steer clear of this location folks!

They pulled the valve cover and noticed my rocker arm was off. They said they did not want to fix it. They charged me 280 dollars to take off the valve cover and put it back on. Would take Maybe a half hour!! I paid the bill. I went in to get my AC recharged and they quoted me 500 dollars!! They said they really don't want to work on older cars. I guess if they thought I was stupid enough to pay this, they would. I said that's Crazy for an AC recharge! I left and took my car to another shop and was charged 120 dollars!! We walked back over to see my car in the very same spot I left it 45 minutes later. I was informed that they weren't able to fit me in... I booked the appointment because my car was feeling unsafe to drive, and we had a lot of driving to do the next day. Despite confirming my number again in person, the man behind the counter informed me that they had a different number for me and they tried to call me a bunch of times. Needless to say, never going back to this location again. Instead of taking full accountability and actually apologizing, they all sat around on their phones waiting for us to leave so they could leave for the day. Not very nice to see when you are leaving without the service you needed.
