I pre ordere2 cartons of cigarettes to take with me to France and my flight was delayed due to weather and the duty free paged me 10 minutes before they closed at 10pm. I would never order again. I had no cigarettes until I got to France and had to pay 12.50 in euros per pack. They also said they had to hand me the cigarettes personally as i was boarding and could not give them to the flight personell. If you are looking for a good price on a multitude of items, DTW Duty Free on the A concourse at DTW is the place to go. The store has a huge variety of items such as fine fragrances, endless selection of alcohol, fine candy, jewelry and more. The service is EXCELLENT and the staff is always so helpful! I travel a good bit and choose DTW to connect through, and hopefully enough time between flights to visit this store. Many times the store will have some special prices on select things, which even makes the buying even more fun. While some of the items they stock can only be purchased if flying international flights, there are other things available to anyone traveling, such as candy and perfumes [and more]. Recently, I was traveling to Germany and was looking at making some holiday purchases. So many choices! I really welcomed the assistance of the staff helping me decide and find just the right presents. Yes, I had to drag the gifts to Europe and back, but I was able to get good values and great items that are not available where I live in Florida. Just say no. I purchased a lipstick that broke off at the base with the first use. This should not have been sold in the first place. This store is not set up to look up your MAC profile as proof of purchase and they are not prepared to graciously replace a defective lipstick without a receipt. Stick with MAC store for MAC products so that you get the real customer service that MAC offers. read more

World Duty Free Group a Dufry Company member of Hudsongroup opened her doors to the public on November 16th 2016 at Detroit Metro Airport North Terminal by gate D8. Catering to mainly international travelers, they also sell to domestic travelers with some restrictions due to US Customs mandates. Liquor and Tobacco products are strictly for the international customers traveling directly out of the country from DTW/Detroit MI. The cosmetics, fragrance and candy are allowed to be sold to domestic customers after fulfilling state tax requirements. But if a passenger is traveling directly out of the country from DTW, all products in store are duty free. They are open Monday thru Sunday 06:00am till 07:00pm until further notice. The last flight departs at 6:35pm. The duty free items has to be delivered to the international gates after purchase per US Customs regulations , however the tax paid items can be taken by the passengers to their respective gates. read more
