    Large clean floor for exercises.

This is a very good martial arts studio. It is family friendly and has a very clean and large space to train. The staff is extremely friendly. All the employees work together and bring something unique to the table. My son is almost 6 years old and has been in the tiny tigers class for several months. He loves it! His confidence and focus are improving each class. I started taking adult classes again too after not being able to train for about 6 years. It was great to get back into it. The masters and instructors run great drills and you can push yourself as hard or light as you can. For instance I had an injured leg (not from class) and just let them know. Then I went easy on that leg. I can't recommend world class martial arts enough.

We absolutely love WCMA. My daughter reluctantly joined after winning 12 lessons through her school auction when she was 5 years old and we had just moved up to the PNW from Los Angeles. We would've never imagined that 2 years later she would be so in love and committed to the program. It motivates her to be confident, disciplined and focused. When COVID shut the world down a year ago, I feel that the staff did everything they could to continue some level of normalcy and consistency for these kids. Which was extremely appreciated. Because of the way WCMA handled the first couple months of the pandemic, we decided to stick to it. They kept us updated every step of the way and the moment they could open the doors for their students, they did. Their safety protocols for in person lessons are some of the best that I've seen in the area for children's programs. They assure appropriate social distancing between each student, mandate masks, daily temperature checks and sanitizing between each class. Not to mention the amazing staff. We feel very comfortable and welcomed.

Great school for kids. They have a fun learning experience

If you compare them to other martial arts places in the area, there are many, more professional, knowledgeable, and safe places. The tuition is very high for the quality of what is presented. They cram as many students as they can and blare music to try to distract from the disarray. Additionally, there are constant fees in addition to tuition. Every 3 months all the kids graduate to the next level regardless of skill proficiency. A new belt is awarded every 4 months and there is a mandatory $40 fee ($50 if you're late) for graduation. That adds up to $160 extra just in graduation fees each year. While there are some consistent older people that work there, the younger trainers work hands on the most. They are noticeably less invested. My child was injured in class today and the trainers would not let her rest. The owner and operators at East West do not value the safety of children. I would highly recommend you research martial arts studios around the area before committing to thousands of dollars a year.

I was really unimpressed with the form and footwork of the students and concerned that setting this as the foundation for my son's training would lead to disadvantages later on. The school got our number from an event and they keep calling us. We have asked them to stop calling several times and they keep doing it. Very unprofessional, unethical, and sloppy. Not what people should be looking for in a martial arts school.

I had been looking for a martial arts school since I moved to Vancouver, WA from CA. I've trained…read morein martial arts prior and knew the type of school I wanted to be a part of. I visited a few jiu jitsu schools both in Portland and Vancouver, but struggled in finding the right school and instructor. I wanted a school where the instructor is knowledgeable, skilled, patient, humble, respectful and effectively communicates techniques. Justin Bendsneyder exemplifies all these characteristics. He is an excellent instructor that truly cares about his students and teaching them proper jiu jitsu skills and techniques. Equally important for me was the overall vibe of the school and the students training there. I wanted to train hard, but didn't want to join a place that had a "bro" mentality with people that have a chip on their shoulder. This isn't the case at Inertia - everyone was nice, friendly, and there to learn with no attitudes. It is a welcoming atmosphere for all; beginners as well as advanced practitioners. I was very happy to find Inertia Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Justin B and highly recommend it to anyone looking to both get in shape & learn jiu jitsu in a positive environment.

I normally don't post reviews yet felt compelled to write this one. Bottom line: Your coach can…read moremake all the difference in your development and passion for the sport and art of BJJ, and I can think of no better coach than Justin Bendsneyder and no better place than Inertia BJJ. When you sign up to join, you sign up for Justin to be your coach, so you learn directly from him. Perhaps what is most telling is that my original plan was to take up a different martial art. However, after observing how Justin taught his students, it became instantly clear to me that I had to seize the opportunity to become a student of Justin's. Truly gifted martial arts instructors can be hard to come by. I realized that this rare and special opportunity was right before me and so I approached Justin [he is very approachable!] and told him that I wanted to learn from him. That happened about a year ago and since then has been one of the best experiences of my life. Justin breaks down techniques and move sets in a way that make it clear and simple to apply, are mechanically sound, and reliable under pressure. The way he communicates that though is what initially caught my attention. Justin has the rare ability to distill down the complex into the simple -- yet in great detail. For me, great communication contains words and instruction yet goes far beyond that to also include patience, respect, the ability to understand things from the student's perspective, always being positive, being a good listener, encouraging questions, demonstrating moves from different angles until you get it, explaining not just the 'what' but the 'why' behind it; the list goes on. Humility, integrity, self-respect, respect for others... Justin leads by example. Always positive, downright friendly, and encouraging to make the learning and mat work fun! The way he carries himself is imprinted throughout Inertia BJJ and as a consequence there is a strong bond of trust, respect and camaraderie among all students. Again, this makes training fun and rewarding because everyone shares the same mindset of wanting to help your fellow training partner. Respect and friendship; you make others better and they in turn make you better. Justin continually strives to improve even though he is an advanced Black Belt with undeniable proficiency in the many facets of BJJ: Gi, No Gi, Self Defense, Sport/Competition. He constantly seeks out new techniques to test out to ensure that the techniques he teaches us are as refined and optimal as possible. In this way, he is constantly driven to make himself better and all of us -- his students -- better; session after session. That is the kind of integrity Justin brings to Inertia BJJ... tirelessly practices what he preaches. Simply the best BJJ coach and the best kind of person that you will find.

I enjoy swimming and Cascade has the best pool in the area so participation here is a matter of limited selection. My problem is the lack of policy/signs/refereeing something that keeps inconsiderate lane swimmers in line. Cascade has no posted policy or signs that direct how people should behave when there are others waiting for a lane. Since there are numerous older adults that seem to have developed blindness because they don't 'see' people waiting nor do they ask anyone. Instead, they see someone getting out of the pool and head directly to the lane that just opened up simply not caring that others are waiting. Most people seem to want to avoid conflict so nothing gets said empowering those who are already feel privileged enough to just jump in. Then there's me. I will say something and I might not be nice about it because your rudeness put you in my path. So, lane cutters if you can't turn to those waiting and ask then expect to get called out or for me to jump in 'your' lane. I simply won't stand for your rude behavior or whatever excuse you have for being like you are. As for Cascade - this on you. You have no policy, no guidance and no monitoring leaving us adults to police themselves. Fortunately, most do an exceptional job of policing themselves and have decency and courtesy. However, there are some that don't possess decency and probably have limited self-control when confronted about their behavior that could lead to an altercation between parties. If this were to happen to me you can bet that I would seeing you in court... And, while you are pondering this matter please scrub the pool! It's filthy. The walls and floor of the pool are coated in brown slime that cause slip when trying to push off. P.S. this also applies to those that are in a lane and invite someone that just shows up to join them instead of the next person in line as it should be. Friends don't get a free pass to the head of the line.
