My step-son attends taekwondo classes here twice a week, partially to give him an additional place to burn off some of his energy, but also to ingrain the concepts of respect, discipline, personal achievement and focus. I'm happy with the improvements I've seen in his behavior after class, even if most of the lesson's impact fades away within a day or two. Thankfully, another class is right there on the horizon! Tuition is reasonable, and there are plenty of available time slots for the various programs. Attendance in any time slot is *not* mandatory, at least for the Tiny Tigers program: you're free to bring your student to any available class for their program, throughout the week, depending on your schedule and flexibility. That's a nice touch that's not always offered at other dojangs and dojos. The staff at World Class Martial Arts somehow manage to corral more than two dozen kids at the same time, hold their attention for a half hour, and even impart some lessons (both physical and mental), with a reasonable amount of success. Sure, sometimes a child (often mine! haha!) will require some individual attention to get them to follow instructions and get them back on track, but the "sabom" (instructors) here are quick to notice distracted kids and move to intercept them, often dividing the troublemakers into groups separate from the more attentive students, and giving them personalized instruction. Our son is in the Tiny Tigers program and he loves it. Master Lee, Master Yun and all the additional teachers are fantastic. Supportive of the students yet firm. Teaching respect, patience and other life skills all through Taekwondo. We looked into other martial arts types in the area (jiu jitsu, mixed) but our son was not interested in them. World Class Martial Arts Taekwondo was the winner for us. Their space is pretty fixed in size, but I wish the changing area was organized better. There is always lots of congestion in this area making it hard to get into and out of uniform. Due to rain and cold we prefer to change there than to wear the uniform in the weather and in the car. read more

WCMA has been great for my child who has ADHD/SPD and in OT for on going therapy. The instructors and masters are patient, respectful, and always encourage everyone to keep trying and do their best. Master Lee has been wonderful. Everyone who interacts with our family has been professional and kind. WCMA has different opportunities to socialize, practice and engage, and the online app is helpful. They have a reward system which is motivational and encouraging for kids. Each class you earn a black stripe. 10 black stripes= 1 star. 15 stars =1 trophy! Once a child earns their yellow/green/red stripes they are eligible for testing (next belt level). This is a very good martial arts studio. It is family friendly and has a very clean and large space to train. The staff is extremely friendly. All the employees work together and bring something unique to the table. My son is almost 6 years old and has been in the tiny tigers class for several months. He loves it! His confidence and focus are improving each class. I started taking adult classes again too after not being able to train for about 6 years. It was great to get back into it. The masters and instructors run great drills and you can push yourself as hard or light as you can. For instance I had an injured leg (not from class) and just let them know. We absolutely love WCMA. My daughter reluctantly joined after winning 12 lessons through her school auction when she was 5 years old and we had just moved up to the PNW from Los Angeles. We would've never imagined that 2 years later she would be so in love and committed to the program. It motivates her to be confident, disciplined and focused. When COVID shut the world down a year ago, I feel that the staff did everything they could to continue some level of normalcy and consistency for these kids. Which was extremely appreciated. Because of the way WCMA handled the first couple months of the pandemic, we decided to stick to it. They kept us updated every step of the way and the moment they could open the doors for their students, they did. Their safety protocols for in person lessons are some of the best that I've seen in the area for children's programs. We found out about this place through the Camas farmer's market. There was someone from admin and a person from the demo team. They were really patient with my 6 year old daughter and taught her how to break a board with her fist in a few minutes. After that we attended some trial classes and have been happy students ever since. We were really looking for a place that my daughter and I could take classes together. She's too young for us to attend classes together right now, but we'll be able to take family classes together in a year or two. The masters that teach the class are great. The Tiny Tigers program allows my daughter to learn basic martial arts and teaches children a lot of fundamental values, such as respect and hard work. They also make sure kids know their basic personal information in case they are lost or find themselves in trouble in the future. It was tough for my daughter at first because she likes to talk and goof off in class, but I think she is really starting to like and respect the masters. I really enjoy that there is an adult only class in the mornings around lunch time. This is a separate class with adults from all belts. The teachers focus on stretching and strengthening our bodies that is not as focused on in classes with all ages. If you really want to seriously learn Tae Kwon Do without distractions, this is a perfect class. There's only a handful of people as well so if you're self conscious with practicing around younger students, this is the perfect class for you. My son Agastya has been enrolled for the Taekwondo since September '19. The tiny-tiger course is not only a joyful way of teaching 4 or 5 years old Taekwondo but also a great way of building discipline, self-respect and confidence. We had been a member since 2016 and are done with this place finally. The owner of this place is very money focused. There are so many hidden costs. Outside of expensive monthly tuition, there are belt tests every 2 months which costs $65. When your kid is ready to test for black belt the test fee is $500. Also they have very long contracts, for us it was 30 months for my 4 year old and 2 years for my 8 year old. When my kids started losing interest due to lots of changes in this school(their main instructor changed 3 times within a year) I reached out to the owner, master Yoon, to get some advice. He saId I, as a parent should motivate my kids to keep coming to this school and if I can't do that, I am not a good parent. I was paying close to $400 a month for my 2 kids and it's my job to motivate them? When we asked to cancel our contract we were told to pay 50% of the remaining contract months' tuition which was over $2800. I told them that it's not fair that we are responsible for the whole cancellation fee because the main reason of quitting is not just on us. They reduced the cancellation fee by 50% but it was still over $1400. While I was trying to get help to avoid paying such a high cancellation fee, they sent me an email threatening to send me to debt collector so I gave in. Oh and when my daughter got her black belt back in November 2021, I paid extra to have the certificate from Korea but I have not received it yet. I asked him multiple times, he kept saying It will be here. He won't give me what I paid for but will send me to debt collectors if I can't pay the cancellation fee? read more

Every one of the instructors is so attentive and caring to the children. They stress the importance of respect (especially to the parents), focus, responsibility, and many other wonderful virtues. Unlike many other places, they are not belt pushers. They really focus on the learning and not leveling up. I could not be more pleased with them. The staff is also incredibly respectful. I've been really impressed. They do a great job of keeping class fun and keeping kids motivated to keep coming to class, very good positive reinforcement system in place, while still teaching fundamentals. There are always at least 3 instructors at every class, allowing for more individualized training, plus they also offer a lot of extra classes or fun events throughout the year. They are very organized and have made pretty good efforts to stay safe during covid. It gets a little busy for about 5 min before and after classes because of the changeover but in all I've been very happy. My daughter loves it too, which is the most important thing. read more

Superbly organized, fun, engaging and.....here is the best part for the hosting parents....you get to enjoy the party with your child rather than doing a headless chicken imitation. We had the best experience for a child's birthday party. The uber professional staff took such good care of all the kids and really kept in control of a potentially crazy situation. 11 Kids, age 8 and under, had such a fun time playing games and taking a mini class. Pizza was provided and they cut and served the cake I brought in. This place is spotless as well. They gave all the kids water and made sure they were having a safe and really fun time. Mr Obegi, the owner, was so attentive and took and printed pictures of the activities and provided all of them to us before we left.
