We hired John "Devon" Buchanan, who goes by Devon, to install French doors and replace sliding…read moreglass doors, which had 2x4s scabbed onto the header of the opening to accommodate the smaller size of the sliding patio door. "Devon" couldn't figure this out, so he forced the new French doors into a hole too small, so we could not shut the doors and secure our home; he beat the new French doors up so much by forcing them into the scabbed hole, they had to be replaced. I am the one who had to take out the beat up doors, for Devon disappeared for almost a week and would not return our calls or texts. When he finally developed a pang of conscience, after our house had a huge tarp covered hole in it for week as it stormed outside, he called and explained that he had been arrested, which seems a frequent occurrence in his life. After he did return and apologize for lying to us via his wife, I pointed out to him the scabbed in 2x4s, which we removed making the hole large enough for the French doors; but, the newly installed doors wouldn't lock, and he had broken a lot of siding, so he asked if he could return the next day to finish up. Of course Devon did not return the next day and we have not heard from him since, because he blocked our number. My wife and I drove to his previous residence but were informed that he had been evicted. We were also told that he had done other customers as he has done us. As an update, we found where Devon lives and he had the nerve to blame us for his incompetence. In addition, he told us he would be at our house to fix all the vinyl siding that he broke, but of course he has not shown up again. I just got on a ladder and there is no J-channel installed on the side or top of the door, so we are having to hire another carpenter to fix Devon's sloppy, irresponsible "work." On top of that, he removed a brace from a down spout to remove vinyl siding and the down spout is, after high winds, falling down. We were informed that he has a substance abuse problems, emphasis on the pluralization, which explains his behavior. A quick Google search will show his various mug shots that substantiate his substance abuse problems. He seems like a nice guy at first, but he is not. Avoid John Devon Buccanan like the plague. Do not let him touch your house. Do not trust him, for he lacks honor, so doesn't care what shape he leaves your house in. We are posting a few pictures of Devon's sloppy work but there are more that show how he put no J-channel on the side of the doors, and other photos that show all the vinyl that he broke, as well as the downspot braces he ripped off and didn't replace, which caused the downspout to fall. We wish we had never met John Devon Bucchanan.

First contact early summer and asked specifically for lawn cut, weed eat & hedges trimmed. Owner…read moreresponded quickly with everyday estimate $55 and would come by for more precise estimate. After a couple days I had to contact him again to see if he'd been out yet for my estimate. He told me he did a "quick drive-by estimate" & it would be $55 for everything I wanted done. Fast forward to when they came out, they cut the grass front & back, whacked about 10% of my property, which is less than a third acre, and blew off the driveway. He sent pictures saying that the job was bigger than he realized and it would be another $55 to come back out and finish. By now it's been over a month and the grass has grown back & the owner sends an employee to finish the job. I see the truck onsite and then gone but hear no work. I went out to see what had been done & they whacked about 5feet of weeds on the side of my garage. I had no contact from the owner and didn't know whether or not they were gonna come back out and finish. After a week or two I reached out and he said as far as he was aware his employee had finished the job and if I wanted him to come out and take a look he would. I gave up at this point and chalked it up to a loss. It took all summer and my yard looks the same as when it started and cost me twice as much. The owner never reached back out to me and doesn't seem very concerned about the quality of work, but I suppose that's shame on me for still going through with the job after my drive by estimate.

He does good work, and he goes the extra mile to figure out complex problems and save you money…read more That matters most. Lizard with a ladder also upholds the stereotypes of contractors. We had him out several times, and he missed his promised time every single time. We had to call several times when he forgot he was supposed to be at our job. Still, once he was there, he would work diligently and make every effort to do things the right and best way, not the easiest way. He did not take shortcuts, and you want an electrician who cares about doing your wiring correctly. He also took the time to solve problems we presented that were not part of the original plan, and he added them in at a fair price. This probably explains why he was often late. It can be hard to know how long a job will take, especially when you are doing your best to do things safely and correctly and taking the time to do it right. So we were understanding about that, once at our house, he often stayed longer than scheduled to make sure we were happy and the job was done correctly. We will use him again.

Requested a sump pump be replaced and sump tank emptied. The plumber did those things. But did…read morenot put the seal back on the lid. I asked him if he could put it back on so I can pay him. He then just tightened the lid back on and STILL forgot to put the rubber seal back on. I know have to spend time unscrewing the the lid myself and put the seal back on. 2.9 out of 5.
