Questionable Business practices by Workout World in the Eastside of Providence/ABC Financial Services. Out of the blue I started getting text message about "my bill" with Work Out Work, I deleted the texts and thought them to be some fishing tactics from scammers. Then I started getting calls from this number 1 833-311-0847, I answerd and the prompt said that it was from Work Out World. I never heard of them, I don't know them, and I never had anything to do with them. I hang up and looked up the company online and found that they had a club not far from where I live. So I called them and asked them why would their company call me? I was never a client of Work Out Work. The person who answerd the phone informed me that WOW bought Boston Sport Club and since I must have a membership with BSC they will continue to charge me. I patiently explained that I did not have an active membership with BCS. I did in the past but I cancelled it more than a year ago, even before Covid19 hit us. He looked me up in their computer and simply said that I show as having an active membership. I repeated again that I did NOT. I am someone who watches their expenses very closely and would not have open and pay for a membership I don't use. He explained to me again that I still have to go through a cancellation process as if I had an active membership with WOW. This is nothing but a SCAM. I looked into what happened to BCS and found out that they went bankrupt and I was not a member when that happened. Still WOW/ABC financial is trying to force down my throat that I am a member in their club. I am NOT and I am outraged to have to spend time and energy to defend myself against a greedy/nasty/scammer of a corporation. It is a shame and if anyone want to sue WOW for such illegal practices I am happy to join efforts with them. This is simply NOT acceptable!

This particular WOW branch makes being a platinum member worth the extra $10 bucks. Also, probably why I hold on to it. Having access this gym's lovely features has it's ups. It's clean and fully-functional. It's open 24hrs (a must for someone like me who works late hours). It's has a nice decent sized women's only area. I would be content just staying in this area alone. Since they have all the cardio and weight machines I would ever want/need. The sauna is pretty awesome too; a perfect end to a nice workout. And the tanning booth (although it's not my cup-a-tea) looks pretty clean and nice. Plus they have classes (which I have yet to try here). My only regret is that I don't live nearby this nicer WOW. Seriously, East Providence WOW... you definitely show em how it's done. Now help out your other WOW gyms... preferably your North Providence one.

I've been coming to this gym since it opened. It has kind of gone down hill some. I think you should be greeted with a smile when you come in. Most of the time they don't even acknowledge you. The ac sometimes doesn't work. Gear is getting a bit beat up. Overall it is a good gym but not the best.

As someone who easily gets intimidated by commercial gyms and weight lifting, I sought out a way to…read moreprioritize fitness and strength training in a more personalized way-- that's how I found Method Fitness. Jack Hammond and I regularly met throughout the week for 60-minute training sessions. I can't emphasize this enough-- his enthusiasm, encouragement, and overall knowledge about training undoubtably helped me achieve my goals. Not only did he constantly challenge and push me to improve and train harder; but he did so with a positive attitude. Obviously just by looking at Jack, you'll be able to tell he knows a thing or two about fitness and lifting (the guy is ~~ripped~~), but what sets Jack apart from the other "bro-science" personal trainers, is that he is ACE-certified, has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, and also has experience with college athletics. His overall understanding about fitness is all backed by his years of experience + knowledge about science-based explanations ... now I don't know about you, but I don't think I could have asked for a more qualified trainer. Due to personal obligations and a career change, I'm no longer able to train at Method as regularly. The good news is that I'll always be able to keep the lessons I've been taught on proper form, correct movements, acceptable adjustments, and lastly-- my higher and improved self-esteem.

Looking for a gym experience that is shepherded by a highly-skilled trainer, perfectly aligned with…read moreyour fitness goals, and not steeped in testosterone? Look no further! I love Method's take on fitness: they recognize that everyone has a different fitness journey, that fitness goals vary, and that getting healthy is a process. By working with Adam and Nigel, I've learned that changing my body composition and dietary discipline has to be habitual, and that success is related to consistency. They've also taught me there is no magic pill, no fantasy workout, no fancy sweatmore sweatpants that are gonna burn my fat, lift my butt, and sculpt my arms; only my hard work will achieve those things. And that the hard work is WAY worth it. With Adam and Nigel's guidance, my weekly workouts have progressed hugely over time. I've dropped weight, changed my body composition, increased my cardio capability, and am strong as hell. Worried about Method being way too bro-tastic for your tastes? No worries there. Amahl, the owner, does an incredible job curating a team of trainers that is dedicated to a healthful lifestyle and are super fit themselves, but somehow lack the macho-man-cool-story-bro gene. Worried about Method not being hardcore enough for you? No worries there, either. These trainers are SERIOUS. I see some of the trainers' personal workouts while I'm coming and going in the space - and their strength, ability, stamina, and discipline AMAZE me. Super inspirational. Couple other plusses: the space is clean and beautiful, parking is easy peasy, there are always fresh towels to wipe your brow, and spring water is provided to quench your thirst. In short, integrating Method into your fitness routine is nothing but a good thing. You'll get where you want to go faster, with better knowledge, and with great guidance.

They have dozens of functioning machines, meaning that even when a lot of people are on the treadmill, there's still one or two left to use. The flow of the place is so efficient that it is impossible to need to wait for any circuit. You can get a full workout in, even when you're crunched for time. Currently, they're renovating select spots of the gym for handi-accessibility and improvements in the locker rooms. Even so, you're able to flow around the renovations as if nothing is happening at all. Plenty of perks to this place, including a pool, classes, a hot tub, sauna and steam room, all included in the cost of the membership. These perks are great for my recovery, and keep me coming back month after month instead of a cheaper gym.

She is a career dancer, so it's not like other places where a fitness instructor just takes a few certification classes. Because of her experience, she is great at explaining how to move and hold your body and how to correct your form. With a maximum class size of 5 - 6, you will have as close to personal training as you can get. The space itself is also top notch. The whole gym has a luxe feel and the studio is small but airy and bright. Between the nice facilities and unique classes, they offer a lot that you won't find anywhere else.

I can tell this gym is focused on personal training and from the reviews looks like 5 stars there as well. But back to the part-time membership - worth every penny. Because they are a personal training gym, we usually always had the place to ourselves which I ended up really, really liking. When I was in fantastic shape, going to the regular gym was nothing, but when you've got some extra pounds to shed, having a nearly private space was amazing. I was concerned that because it was a personal training gym a trainer would eventually come up and try to sell me on some sessions, but that didn't happen. Unlike larger gyms I've been to! Also because they are personal training, you have just about every piece of free-weight/aerobic equipment that you could want, along with several machines - again at your disposal, no worrying about waiting for them. They also offer classes that look fun. Finally you CANNOT, I repeat cannot beat the atmosphere here. It is really cool inside, extremely clean, set-up well (2 floors), modern and the staff/owners are so friendly and pretty much mind their clients and not your presence. In conclusion, the weekday membership is not for everyone, but if you can swing it, it's worth it!

I contacted them again directly through email over a week later and finally was contacted...by none other than the owner Aaron Atwood. He was relatively rude via email, but myself and my girlfriend both decided to go in to interview them and go through their consultation process. When we arrived, on time, for our consultation, we were kept waiting for over 20 minutes because he overlapped his training of some old woman with our consultation. While we looked around the lobby, there was a variety of turn offs immediately present. The decor was terrible. The ceiling was painted metallic silver, the carpet smelled, and the layout was cramped. The music was awful. Not a good start. We finally met Aaron, an abrasive young man, who we later found out owned the place. We got a 3 minute tour of the facility. The facility consisted of 3 "private" studios, otherwise known as cluttered cubby holes packed with crappy equipment. He said they were all alike, but I noticed distinct differences in the equipment in the blur of a tour we received. Trying to keep an open mind I thought, well equipment isn't what we are here for, it's the trainer. We go into the office, sit down, and Aaron the owner immediately tries to get us to fill out paperwork. We pretty much laughed at him and asked him to hold on a bit. Then he inundated us with obnoxious questions and responses, and basically belittled us for not already being in top shape. Ironically, the man himself had love handles that were visible through the two shirts he was wearing. Overall, he was one of the most irritating and grating people I have ever met, and he's supposed to be a motivator? I don't think so. Lets talk about clientele. The place is full of old women. That's it. There is nothing else to it. It might as well be called Curves. If you're serious about getting a trainer, check out Method. Way better. I think it's only fair that I leave you with an example of the lack of professionalism that was overwhelmingly present during our "consultation". On the whiteboard directly across from the interviewing table was a shopping list. Goo Gone and Tampons. Yep, tampons. Nothing says personal training like tampons and goo gone. If you go here, you're making a grave mistake. I'd give it negative stars if I could. Don't waste your time or your money.. Update: My girlfriend reminded me that he wouldn't make an appointment via email and that he was horrible and rude on the phone, and he tried to grill her to see if she was even worth the time of a consultation. He made her painfully aware that we might not "fit" into their program, which quickly became even more offensive when we were able to see their clientele.
