First time at woodside, went as a guest with a friend who had membership. Overall, the indoor pool…read moreand hot tub are cozy and aesthetic. However, it can get busy there and the hot tub chlorine does sting my eyes a bit. There is also a steam and dry sauna there (both men and women in there). Parking is also difficult to find close by with how many people go there now. The women's locker room was nice, but honestly I expected the showers to be nicer and more modern. We stopped by the cafe on the way out. I tried the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese had apples in it and had good flavor. However, the tomato soup just tasted like thick, sour, tomato paste. It was not creamy like typical tomato soup.

I am sharing the reason I ended my membership at Woodside: the conduct of the Director of…read moreMembership, Tara. From the beginning, her behavior consistently crossed professional boundaries and created an environment that felt more like a social hunting ground for certain male members than a wellness club. On multiple occasions, Tara suggested that I "needed" a male partner and even sent men over to approach me while I was eating or speaking with others--behavior witnessed by Woodside staff and other members. Even the bartender, Jake, acknowledged what was happening and told me I handled the situation well. This was wildly inappropriate for someone in her position. During a Woodside happy hour event, I was approached by a status‑level, older member who offered to pay me for sexual services. When I reached out to Tara privately to clarify that I was not seeking any kind of partner, she dismissed my concerns and insisted otherwise. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, she minimized it. Tara has also made negative comments about me to other members and spoken poorly about other guests in my presence. These patterns made the club feel less like a professional, wellness‑focused environment and more like a place where certain members are enabled and protected while others are made uncomfortable. My decision to leave Woodside is directly tied to my experiences with Tara. Prospective members deserve to know the culture being shaped by the membership leadership, and I strongly urge ownership to take these concerns seriously. I am prepared to provide further details if needed.

I love this place…read more After almost a year of one-on-one personal training (see my previous review), I started going to the MWF morning small group training classes. It's a little more economical, I still get a great workout, and I get to do it with a group of really awesome people! What's not to love?! I love the flexibility that the MWF group classes offer. If I have an 8 am meeting, I workout from 5:30-6:30 instead of the 6:30-7:30 time. There is even an 8:45 am workout that is great if I have a day off and don't want to get up early. The workouts themselves are always different, so I never get bored. I also never know what to expect until Coach Heath writes the sets on the white board. He then shows us proper form for the first set, and then turns us loose. He's there to keep track of the time, make sure we're doing the moves correctly, and answer our questions. The "sets" typically consist of 5-6 exercises, where we do each exercise for 30 seconds until we've gotten through the set three times. Occasionally there will be a set that is at your own pace. There is usually a "finisher" too. I'm not sure where the name comes from, but you are D.O.N.E. when it's over. The prowler is aptly named, because it's difficulty sneaks up on you during those last 5 or so yards. I've also gone to the evening large group training class once or twice. The intervals there are for 60 seconds, which seem like an eternity when you're used to 30 seconds. Muay Thai classes taught by Bryan Carroll are a fun and challenging addition to the classes offered by SlinkFit. There is an additional fee for these classes, but they ROCK and are totally worth it! If you've read this far, you might be like, "Ok, sounds great. but I'm REALLY out of shape. There is no way I could survive one of these classes." I'm not gonna lie. It'll be hard, but all of the exercises can be and will be modified to your fitness level. All the trainers are great about showing modifications. You will be surprised at how quickly you build strength and won't have to modify as much the more you do the workouts. The other excuse people make is: "I don't want to work out in a group because I'll look stilly fumbling through exercises." The rest of the people in the group can barely see past their own sweat. No one is paying attention to what anyone else is doing. Promise. So quit making excuses, join a gym that you will actually use, get fantastic workouts every week, and meet new friends. You game?
