WHY DR WOODS SUCKS My review: Horrible. Inept. The worst. My daughter has been under this orthodontist for three full years and now that she leaving for college - UCalgary - we are nothing less than in tears. Dr. Woods has repeatedly shifted blame as to why he has failed so miserably. The fact is that my daughter had been in braces for a year and when we moved here and had an initial consultation with this dotard he said that her teeth would be done in 4-6 months. Three years later people and her teeth look like hell. He is putting her in Invisalign. Neverrrr everrr again. read more

Do not go here. Do not bring your child here. I have had braces on for four consecutive years and my teeth are significantly worse than they were before. I am getting Invisalign to correct what Dr. Woods has done. He is patronizing and made me feel uncomfortable during the entirety of my treatment. It was a waste of my time and money. PLEASE READ THIS IN FULL BEFORE CONSIDERING TREATMENT FROM DR. WOODS AND HIS STAFF: I have been a patient of Dr Woods for over 10 years. My mom used to deal with making all of the appointments and talking with the staff and I never truly understood her frustrations until recently. Now that I'm an adult I've had the pleasure of dealing with the unprofessional and disrespectful front office staff myself. Based on my last 10 years of treatment from Dr Woods here is what you can expect to experience as his patient: Anytime you call the office the receptionist Heather, who clearly hates her job, will sound irritated that you even called in the first place. It is likely she'll tell you they are booked solid for the next 8 weeks and there's no way they can get you in even in an emergency. It is also likely that she'll tell you they are going to be taking another vacation and shutting down the offices for two weeks even though they are already struggling to meet patient's needs, which makes finding an appointment nearly impossible. Then when you finally find an appointment she'll warn you about the exorbitant price of the visit. But don't you dare raise any concerns about the fact that it will cost you almost $200 because you will be told "well that's just what it is" as if money grows on trees and you haven't been a loyal patient for over a decade and spent well over $7k on treatment already. It also doesn't matter that you've had this wire fixed a dozen times and paid for it every single time without complaint. The icing on the cake is when you finally get to your appointment and sit down in the chair after waiting for nearly 30 minutes to be seen. The computer screen next to you will have your patient file pulled up with a long comment from Heather the receptionist filled with lies about how you (the loyal patient of 10 years) were "upset and argued with her on the phone and told her what the price should be and how you were upset that you have to deal with this every year." When in reality you were simply asking for clarification based on previous treatments at that office. You never once TOLD her what the price SHOULD be, but rather you referenced what you have paid in the past and ASKED why it would cost so much more this time around. God forbid you want to make sure you're paying a fair price after already dishing out an arm and a leg for braces, etc. Talk about a smack in the face. What practice allows their receptionist to write untruthful and unkind remarks about patient interactions when the patient is unable to speak for themselves. I read the comment she wrote and almost left on the spot, but I needed the wire fixed so I bit my tongue. After Dr Woods was done he whispered to the tech. and told her to bring me up to the front desk to bill me for the small amount of work he did. I paid the ridiculous fee and left. I will never recommend Dr Woods' practice to anyone who expects to be treated fairly and respectfully by their doctor and his staff. I understand that all businesses are struggling to find workers and meet demand and that Dr Woods runs a massive practice here on Cape. That being said, if you cannot rise to the occasion and treat your patients with the bare minimum of dignity and respect when they have a simple question about price, then you should not be in practice PERIOD. And if your receptionist finds it acceptable to write untruthful comments about a patient in their chart, then you might want to reevaluate who you have working up front and how they present themselves and your business to the public. warren woods is a cruel and incompetent man. I worked with him for weeks documenting my open bite and smile. He knew I was in so much pain that I was unable to work and that I was physically disabled from an autoimmune disease which is overwhelming as a young woman. After finally coming up with a treatment plan he never understood how my open bite occurred or tried to find out. When recommending surgeons he said he wouldn't work with the one I had and he didn't care if my insurance didn't cover the recommended one. I explained to him I'm on disability and cant afford thousands of dollars for a surgery and braces out of pocket. He became aggressive and told me to get a job to afford it?!?! He had the audacity to ask me if "I've ever worked or if I have any valuable skills." infuriated and humiliated, I let him have it. I have a bachelors degree in my dream profession I cant use because I'm in so much pain and cant even chew food! What kind of monster treats people like that? not everyone can just buy themselves out of chronic heath problems?! He never apologized and I fired him obviously. He also likes to delete negative reviews. how many other people have to suffer at his had before this place finally gets shut down! read more

Take your business elsewhere if you care about customer service and your child being the most important thing to their practice. Wait times are ridiculous and accommodations/lack of flexibility is disappointing. It seems like money is more important to them than the care your child needs. I hope parents take my advice into consideration before they make such a hefty investment. read more

WORST treatment I have ever received by a physician and their staff. They should not be allowed to work on children. When my daughter complained that she was feeling pain and that they were being rough she was met with a horrible attitude and intimidation. They hold grudges if you speak up and complain and Dr. Woods does not hold any of his staff accountable. I do not know how he can run his practice this way and get away with it. We were disgusted by the treatment we have received and we were forced to make a move to another orthodontist office where our daughter and ourselves will be treated with respect and compassion. At woods Orthodontics you will be treated as just another number not a patient. Not only did Dr. Woods not apologize or even try to make things right, he kept all of the money we had paid in advance. By far the worst, from the miserable staff at the front desk to the doctor himself. I hope my experience can save someone, specially with children who have invested all the time and money that orthodontic treatment requires from having to experience what we have experienced at the hands of Dr. Woods and his staff. read more

As an adult I finally got my long-awaited orthodontia. I was told by Dr. Woods initially that my treatment would last about 2 years with no removal of teeth or extraordinary appliances. Two years went by. My insurance and I had paid in full but my teeth were long from finished. I had noticed that there had not been much change over the last few months. Then I had to move to NC and Dr. Woods told me that I should finish my treatment there. I went to three different offices in NC and all three told me that the braces I had on now were doing nothing and I needed to start over. Long story short, I got no refund from Dr. Woods. He claimed that he told me that I needed teeth pulled and I refused. I worked for an oral surgeon! Why would I refuse?! I now do not have the funds to start over for another 2+ years and have a big gap between my maxillary teeth and significant crowding in the mandible. All for thousands of wasted dollars!! read more
