Horrible physical Therapist! She didn't do any assessments no tests or any sensory testing. She…read moredidn't listen well. This physical therapist used a air compression device on my leg after I told her I couldn't tolerate pressure or BP cuff and She said it wasn't like that but it was! This supposed to be used for swelling lymphedema and I don't have that as well as she failed to ask if I had history of blood clots. This was the first thing she tried without first laying her own hands on my legs to test for sensory perception. I shouldn't have trusted her but unfortunately I did. This treatment caused my knee too swell and increase in pain it is not indicated to treat for sensitivity or nerve pain. She is very arrogant and cares more about being called a Dr. Than in doing her job correctly. Don't believe the websites claims that says that she cares. She messed up on documentation in past history from intake form. Please get referrals to competent PT. There are many places and competent physical Therapists so steer clear of this one. Beware. after seeing this PT found reference on Understanding Lymphedema Pumps and why they should NOT be used! INTRODUCTION The goal of using a pump in the treatment of lymphedema is to move excess fluid out of the affected limb and return it to the cardiovascular system. A pump is used by some treatment facilities as part of a professional service. An even more important role of the pump is for use at home by a patient who has been trained in its proper use. If the pump is not used properly, it can force excess fluids into the surrounding tissue creating more problems.  Using a Pump I found these reasons to NOT USE one especially in first evaluation, and Only use if you have A Doctors order! You may need a prescription for more powerful lymphedema pumps; usually you obtain this from your doctor's office and then fax it when you order your item. You shouldn't use these lymphedema pumps if you have an active blood clot. You shouldn't use these if you have congestive heart failure. **If your arm or leg or foot is very sensitive to pain, don't use a lymphedema sleeve on it. **Check with your doctor before using any type of sequential compression device.
