But I've been to a chiropractor before I moved to Shepherdstown, WV and had a much more elaborate, empowering, and educational consult than I did at Jefferson Chiro: I was actually taught about the subluxations in our spine, told how the doctor planned on using certain adjustments to help certain concerns, and I was scanned/ given thermal and EMG imaging of my own back. The point is that I was actually informed about my own body & had information about myself to take away from the consult (all for $30 less than a full consultation @ Jefferson)--- at Jeff Chiro I just expressed my pain points, told them I was the kind of person who wanted a brief understanding of what they we're doing to my body, instructed through a 5 min assessment of movements, shown what the adjustments would feel like, and then told to lie on the table to get started. And even though I was uncomfortable with moving forward with any adjustments, I was still charged for the exam that gave me absolute no education.
