The spa had that distinct Grand Royal Spa look. The lobby which doubled as the reception area was spacious. There were a few couches you can lounge on while waiting for your name to be called. Magazines are also readily available from the small coffee tables should you wish to read up while waiting too - the magazines are old though. You won't have any problem keeping your privacy because the massage area is huge! The massage table was soft and smelled of clean linen. What I really love was their therapists. They all look competent and always had on a big smile. I felt good seeing the therapist looked happy because I know I will get a good massage and i was right. The therapist went on to give me a superb rub down. I came in feeling weak and tired from work and went out feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Grand Royal Spa Bacolod offers a variety of spa services but if it's massage you want, it's just php320/hour. It's more expensive than the massage places I've been to in Bacolod but it was all worth it. I highly recommend that you try out Grand Royal Spa Bacolod because you'll be glad you did.

We were also allowed to see the room in which you will stay at which is basically one big dark room that every customer shares and is divided with dark curtains. The massage bed is a soft velvet arm chair that converts to a bed with an opening to place your face in like any regular massage place. Overall, it was a great experience. The process is that they will choose a person for you and the patron will wash your feet upon entering the dark room. Please don't take off your bottom underwear!!! Lay on the bed as they massage your back and front. Calming music plays but yes you can hear people chatting from afar. The workers do not talk unless they need to ask you or their co-workers for anything. They speak Bisaya, Tagalog and English. At the end of your session, don't forget to ask the person who massaged you for their name in case you forget who to tip after paying. Good service means giving some extra money. Cash only. I came on a weekday afternoon for a Balayage and mani-pedi. I was immediately assisted by their staff and was later on cut and styled by Francis. He is Singaporean, if im not mistaken, and communicates very well in English. He had such light hands as he cut and snipped here and there. I appreciated that he really took his time to work on me, cutting my hair as meticulously as he could letting me feel like every strand mattered. After the styling, Francis transferred me to Allen who did my hair color. Allen was assisted by Tata who answered his beck and calls. Together they worked on my highlights. Allen did such an amazing job giving me the Caramel Balayage that i asked for! I was very pleased with their work. The products that they used are also of good quality as you will be able to see in their display. My hair looked good, felt good and even smelled good! While I had my hair done, my mani-pedi was also ongoing. Talk about being pampered! I could not, for the life me, remember who assisted, if it was two ladies named Irish and Emma or not. But anyway, they were wonderful. Not chatty which i did not mind at all. Both had light hands and worked on my nails so well. We LOVED it so much that we came back two days in a row, because when a 60 minute massage is 670…read morephp (~$13 USD), how could you not!? The *Swedish Massage* was divine, providing the ultimate relaxation while still loosening up every knot in my constantly tight back. My second round, I went for a pedicure and foot massage and all but fell asleep! The pedicure, with just top coat and paint, lasted quite a long time too; 2 weeks at least before one chipped. And that's with regular running throughout the week. The masseuses were all super sweet too! They were very excited to know we were Filipino among a sea of white Europeans. I think most Filipinos respect you though if you know to address them respectfully with a "Hello, po!", or a "Thank you, po!". The masseuses were personable enough though to make me want to call them "ate" (where appropriate). The fact that I was able to find calm and relaxation at this massage place is saying something because it is located on a very busy corner so sound from the trikes and motorbikes do travel through the walls. You may also not have the ultimate privacy since "rooms" are separated by curtains. Pretty sure someone peaked in on accident and saw me buck nekkid, haha. Honestly, I could care less since the massage provided the ultimate comfort!
