The qualities that make her stand out from other therapists are her patience, her creativity and her perseverance. She will not give up easily if your child is not making the progress that is typically expected. Her kind and innovative approach to learning drew my son to her instantly. He does not respond or comply with just anybody. Aside from that, she is adamant about keeping parents informed of skills and techniques that need to be practiced at home to help your child succeed. She is very good about following up and has taught me that parent involvement is key. I would refer Miss Louise to anyone who is looking for a speech pathologist, but especially for those who have a child on the spectrum or with behavioral issue

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Laura. She performed a thoughtful, thorough evaluation and…read moreexplained everything in a way we could understand. That clarity alone lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. From there, she met our toddler exactly where he was. Every session was engaging, play-based, and tailored to his interests, and she always took the time to explain what she was doing and why. We left each visit feeling empowered with practical and fun tools to use in every day life. We started seeing results immediately: our toddler's intelligibility started improving within a week of trying her tools. What stood out most was how observant and encouraging she was. She celebrated every bit of progress while giving us honest, thoughtful feedback, and she treated us as partners in helping our son communicate. As parents, that combination of expertise and kindness meant the world to us. If you're looking for an exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate speech-language pathologist, especially if you're concerned about apraxia or motor speech disorders, I recommend Laura wholeheartedly. She has had a lasting impact on our family, and we're so grateful for everything she did for our son. I only wish we could have met her cat ;)

Late August 2024. I had a horrible case of Vertigo. I had…read moreit two years ago...was treated and it never resurfaced until two weeks ago. I had the same treatment as two years ago but the dizziness didn't subside. It was somewhat better but really too debilitating to live a normal life. I finally went to Cedars Marina Del Rey Emergency. After doing many tests they admitted me to the hospital. My assigned doctor was John Joseph Pack MD. I did have the Epley Maneuver done at the hospital and I was getting some relief but after five days Dr. Pack wanted me to come here to build up my strength to enable me to go home. I was quite hesitant to come here because of the reviews I had read. But as soon as I was wheeled in (on a gurney) I felt comfortable. There was a pleasant scent to this facility. It was spotlessly clean and bright. I was put in a room and felt very comfortable being here. Over the next few days I met so many of their staff...RN's, CNA's, dietician's, a pharmacist, PT therapists, executive staff members and others. Every single one of them made me feel welcome and happy to be here. I have been pampered by so many wonderful people here. They truly are lovely carrying individuals. And it's quiet at night. The food here is adequate. I don't have much of an appetite any more and this facility does a good job with the three meals being served daily and snacks also. REVIEW UPDATED Sept 16, 2024: I have now been here close to three weeks and I am changing my opinion of the food. NOT ADEQUATE. Something is always missing from the tray. It could be a knife. Or the printed menu shows a roll and butter. Sometimes no butter sometimes both are missing. The main dishes are described beautifully but that's not what you get. A hoagie Philly style with cheese, onions and peppers. Only no onions and peppers. And it was on a slice of white bread. Or a tuna sandwich with a plate of lettuce and tomato. No lettuce or tomato. Toast with eggs in the morning with butter and jelly. Sometimes you will get the butter other times nothing. A side of coleslaw never came, the cooked meats are cremated...dried out. One dish was turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. No gravy. I keep asking for packets of ketchup and mustard so I can make a sauce myself. With that being said I'm keeping the rating at five stars. And that's because of the people working here. They are incredible. And I needed to lose a few pounds anyway. So put your worries to rest. This place is amazing. I highly recommend it when and if it is needed.

The place is disgusting and the people working there are incompetent, overworked, understaffed and because they have to hurry they can't take care of your loved one. There is no doctor on site, new patients don't get seen for over a week. When my loved one passed away in this facility after a week staying there, someone called in incomprehensibly English to tell me that she "expired" When I came to pick up her belongings, they didn't say anything, not even condolences. They just gave me a plastic garbage bag with her clothes, glasses and phone... It was one of the most shocking experiences in my whole life and I am a nurse who has seen many rehabilitation places, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. I'm surprised that place didn't get shut down and that people allow the elderly to be treated like that.

After working with Ms. Kristin for a little over a year, we have seen the most improvement we've ever seen with my daughter. Her articulation is so much better, her vocabulary has increased tremendously, and she is now 100% intelligible. What I appreciate most about Kristin is that she really understands PDA. She does not push my daughter in a way that overwhelms her, but she still encourages her to work, participate, and have fun while doing it. Kyra is also wonderful to work with. If there is ever a problem, no matter what it is, she will work with you to find a solution. We are so grateful for Kristin, Kyra, and Sound It Out Speech Therapy and would absolutely recommend them.
