I've had two visits at Women's HealthFirst with Dr. Papa Win DeLaCruz, and while the clinical care itself appears competent, the bedside manner has been consistently disappointing and concerning. I want to start by recognizing that the ultrasound technician and nurse practitioner were excellent--kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The front desk staff was also helpful and respectful. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. DeLaCruz was the complete opposite--and it was consistent across both visits. During both appointments, she came across as rushed, dismissive, and lacking empathy. She frequently spoke very quickly, interrupted questions before they were finished, and gave the impression that she did not have the time or patience to engage in a thoughtful conversation. Asking questions--especially about my own care--felt discouraged rather than welcomed. I honestly felt like she was annoyed by my questions and that I was being made to feel stupid for asking them. There were multiple moments that felt condescending. For example, when I asked about ultrasound options for future visits, her response and tone felt dismissive, as if I shouldn't be asking. When I asked for clarification about my condition, she made comments implying I didn't understand or hadn't studied it enough, rather than taking the opportunity to explain in a supportive way. At one point, she said she would "show me again" because I "still didn't have a grasp." When she showed me a visual and handed me a printout of the condition, she essentially said, "read it so you're educated," and the tone felt belittling. When my husband asked reasonable questions--such as whether this condition is "normal" (meaning common) and whether anything could have been done earlier--she corrected his wording on a technicality, saying, "Of course it's not normal, but I see a lot of it." Her responses felt curt and dismissive. She also said, "I've only been her doctor for three months; she didn't tell me she had it," which made me feel like I had done something wrong. I genuinely wasn't aware of this condition because I didn't have any symptoms--so I wouldn't have known to bring it up. While I'm grateful that she identified it now, her bedside manner and choice of words lacked empathy and care. As a patient, I was made to feel small and uncomfortable--more like an appointment she was trying to quickly finish than a person. This was not just my perception; my husband independently expressed concern afterward and strongly encouraged me to switch doctors based on how I was treated. When our session ended, I'm not sure if it was intentional or an issue with the door, but it slammed loudly on her way out. The same thing happened when she came back in and out to give me a printout. I fully understand that physicians are busy and deal with complex cases, but bedside manner matters. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and supported--especially when discussing their own bodies and medical decisions. The tone, facial expressions, and overall demeanor during both visits made me feel uncomfortable, rushed, and at times talked down to. It wasn't a good experience overall, and in a sensitive medical setting, comfort and trust matter. Additionally, there was confusion regarding follow-up scheduling. While I was told one timeline during the visit, the front desk later confirmed a different one after checking with the doctor. There was also an assumption made about which provider I should see next, rather than involving me in that decision and getting my input. I gave this provider two opportunities, hoping the first experience was just an off day--but the second visit confirmed a pattern. I still value the clinic overall and appreciate the care from other staff members, but I will need to consider whether I return. If I do, I will request a different provider moving forward. I believe every patient deserves not only competent medical care, but also empathy, patience, and respectful communication. read more

I specifically signed up for Yelp to warn others about Women's Health First. I was glad to see the review from Sarah E. I've unfortunately been going there 2 years now. In my busy world, I forgot to schedule my annual Pap last year. I called to set an appointment and asked when my last Pap was. The woman said 2 years ago. I asked why they don't send postcards or make phone calls to remind women, and she responded with "well, that's not our job." "Women's Health FIRST??" I think not. Every time I've been there, I have waited. And I don't mean wait for a half hour. This recent visit, I waited for AN HOUR AND A HALF just to get into the exam room. The nurse seemed ticked that I was ticked about taking off work to sit in their disgusting waiting room. My impression from the doctor that I have as well as the rest of the staff is that they do not give an ounce of concern for your well-being. I am trying to plan for a baby, and their advice could have been given by anyone. My doctor asked me the same questions over and over again, which clearly meant she wasn't listening. My exam, like Sarah's, was a quick 2 minutes. And any questions asked may as well be poison to their ears! They all seem so annoyed when I ask a question. My exam room was dirty as well. Dust bunnies on the floor, wet drips on the floor (who knows what from), dust hanging from the exhaust fans in the ceiling, and more. Sad. I'd rather pay out of pocket than get a discounted rate to go here. It is really unfortunate that an establishment that needs to be very detailed, thorough, and caring is the absolute opposite. I would never recommend anyone to go here. I don't know about the other locations, but I'm sure they run the same way. I am not one to get enraged and complain about businesses. I like to give the benefit of the doubt. But enough is enough. This place is just sad - and NO woman should be treated the way they are at Women's Health First. It is obvious and understandable if a doctor is running behind the schedule, people need to respect the fact that doctors work non stop and some patients need or have questions and different issues with health. If you are looking for a personal experience this is not the place for you. Consistently behind at appointments, 45-60 minutes. Very pro C-section (first and repeat). Vbac tolerant, not supportive at all. All they care about is lining their pockets and what better way to do it than convincing every patient that their baby is "too big" and fear mongering them into a risky surgery. I fired them at 35 weeks because I couldn't stand the thought of them making another penny off of me. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I could not believe the negative reviews as well. I have been going to Schaumburg location for past 6 months. They are always on time. The most I had to wait was 10 minutes. Dr. McCormick is one of the best doctor I have ever met. She is personable and very knowledgeable. I don't ever feel rushed and she always makes sure all of my questions are answered. I am going thru some medical problems but getting it all under control thanks to her. She is an exceptional surgeon as well. I would highly recommend her to any women who is looking for a new Ob Gyn. read more

Dr. Papa Delacruz did not give me the important mammogram test results and also she didn't recommend me appropriate cancer screening tests. Considering that my mother had breast cancer, Dr. Papa Delacruz should have informed me of the fact that I have dense breast and therefore mammogram can't detect cancer very well. She should have recommended me to get other tests other than mammogram. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I am going through chemotherapy. Dr. Papa Delacruz could have warned me of my dense breast and could have given me a better test to detect cancer. Dr. Papa Delacruz could have helped me to find my cancer earlier. But she didn't!! I am very sorry that I had her for my doctor. read more

I don't even know where to start with this place. I am so upset and disgusted with the way this business runs. No business should ever run like this. As a first time parent-to-be you have NO IDEA WHAT TO EXPECT. I searched for doctors that work with the hospital I would like to deliver at. I found this practice who raves about one doctor specifically. The first appointment I had was two months ago. I arrived early as they asked to fill out paperwork. I arrived to be greeted by the most sourpuss faced old lady I've ever met. She was so rude that I actually almost walked out of there. I mean I had to physically walk out to control myself from asking her what her problem was. I'm not a confrontational person but I also will speak my mind if necessary. After waiting ONE HOUR to be seen by a doctor I was taken in for an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech was OK. I've experienced better people but I assumed she was just cranky because of the amount of people in the waiting room. Waiting another 20 minutes, the doctor finally walks in. She too was OK. I found out more about her in the 10 minutes I was seen then she knew about me. I can tell you all about her husband, her two kids, her delivery, and everything else in between. Oh the doctor's nurse can suck it too because she was rude. I don't care about how many kids you have or how tired you are...let's talk about my issue and why I'm here. The lab techs were GREAT! Those ladies were so sweet. I guess they have to be when drawing blood but nonetheless, I have no complaints about them. The checkout was much more pleasant than check-in. However, it was the same old lady at the counter except this time she smiled. Probably because the doctor stood right next to her. You would think that this would set the tone for me and make me want to leave this practice but I sucked it up and assumed it was because everyone in that office was having a bad day. Fast forward a few weeks later for a last minute appointment. By last minute I mean 3 days prior. I felt sick and didn't know what to do to feel better. I called doctor's office to make an appointment. I described my symptoms and asked if I needed to see them or my primary doctor. They insisted I come see them or go to the ER. Really, the ER? For an ear infection??? I hung up on the unintelligent physician's assistant only to receive a call back at work asking me if I was sure I didn't want to come in. I told her I would take my chances. I also then reconsidered and scheduled an appointment. The lady I spoke with was probably the DUMBEST person there. She kept getting me mixed up with someone else. After giving her my date of birth AND name (twice) she asked "you have public aid, right"? I asked her again, "are you sure you have the right person? I have PPO". OMG this place. I REALLY hate waiting. This time I arrived only 10 minutes early and had to 55 minutes before being seen by this doctor. I hate to put her on blast but she really takes the cake. Dr. De La Cruz is the worst doctor I have ever met. She had no answers for me, told me she doesn't know why I was there since they don't have a machine to even check for ear infections. She stressed to me that they only deal with pregnancies there. Really? Because your assistant had thought otherwise. I waited 3 days to be treated for an ear infection only to be told she can't do anything for me. When I started to ask other questions she kept saying we will discuss that at the appropriate time. WHAT? I'm asking now though. I asked her to refer me to a nutritionist as I am having difficulty finding things to cook or eat as I have an aversion to meat and bread now. She said "no, I'd rather wait until you are 28 weeks or so because we have an order of how we do things here". I'm 24 weeks now just FYI. And the best part of the words that came out of her mouth were....because you're a bigger lady.... If I can see correctly, she is as big as I am and I'm freakin' pregnant! I also have only gained 14 pounds in 6 months of pregnancy. Upon checking out, this other lady was just as bad as the first one. What is wrong with this place? Does anyone know how to smile? Or say "thank you", "good-bye" or anything nice??? This place overbooks all appointments and waiting is not an option for me. I don't get paid to sit around in a waiting room. Needless to say, it sounds like I am venting but I am only describing the horrible experiences I've had with this practice. If you have the choice to go elsewhere...by all means, go elsewhere. I will be leaving this practice and finding a practice with doctors who actually have a bedside manner and care about their patients. read more

I am still in shock about the incompetency of this practice. A bulleted list is the only way to do this: -My husband and I arrived 15 minutes early with our forms printed and completed. We were still called back 15 minutes after our appointment time. -We were there for a pre-pregnancy exam. I'm glad I made a list of the tests I needed because I had to ask to be tested for all of them (including toxoplasmosis and hep b immunity, two very important issues for a pregnant woman!) -The doctor (Amy Kleinklaus-Lee) asked the same questions we'd already answered in our paperwork and failed to address a few issues I had brought up, including a referral for internal medicine doc (which I never received). While she was courteous, she seemed annoyed that we came with questions. I was concerned about serious medical issues I've had and she brushed them off without too much concern. -The exam took a grand total of three minutes and then I never saw the doc after that (I'm planning on growing another person here...I'd like to know I'm not being rushed through!) -The nurse had stringy wet hair hanging down everywhere and she was EATING as she drew my blood. -It's been two weeks since I had my tests and I never received the results by phone. I looked online and only one result out of 10 had come back. I called and the person on the line snottily informed me that I would "get them when I get them." I called again today to find out what was going on. The nurse said the single result I received was meant to cover ALL the tests. Interesting since the message only read: "Your doctor has reviewed your cystic fibrosis test results. You are NOT a carrier of cystic fibrosis." I guess I'm supposed to draw conclusions about diabetes, hep b and MMR immunity, STDs, etc., because they were never mentioned to me EVER. The bottom line: having a baby is serious business and it is imperative to find a healthcare provider to help ensure your safety and the safety of your baby. It's not unrealistic to expect a doctor to care---it's essential. I found this place to be disorganized, uncaring, rushed, and completely uninterested in following up. We'll be making the longer trip to Northwest Community in Arlington Heights. Our future kids' lives are too valuable to risk. read more

I delivered my first baby with them.... Dr Mlynarczyk was good and nice to me all the time, but oh my where do I begin regarding the office staff. Most of staff there are dumb dumb dumb, rude, not orginized, i drove an hour to get checked and they told me they have no appoitment for me, when the night before they calle me to confirm, constant problems with paperwork, not friendly staff. They always double book, long long waits. Im switching doctors now, will no longer go to that practice because of the dumb and rude women who work there. read more

I have called the office seven times in four days to get my colposcopy results from Dr. Szela, and each time I have received an acknowledgement of my previous calls, an indication of no knowledge as to why he has not called me, despite the results being in, and an assurance that he will call within the day. I have still not learned my results and I am now looking into having them sent elsewhere for interpretation. A colposcopy is a test for cervical cancer or precancer after an abnormal pap. And they are essentially ignoring me. This is unacceptable. read more

Absolutely terrible clinic. All locations require a ridiculously long wait. Have sometimes had to wait an hour to see the doc. Staff is really rude and not compassionate at all. Warning: do not see Dr. Anita Iyer, she was no focused during my appt at all and misdiagnosed a simple condition. Her answer to everything is birth control. There is no excuse for the lack of time and dedication of the staff, especially when my health is at risk. Do not go here! read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I made my appointment, oh well I'll never get my time back. I saw Dr. iyer, she was friendly enough but I think it is completely unprofessional to make anyone wait an hour to see them. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out my paperwork, there was one other person in the waiting room when I arrived. When the doctor finally came into my room I asked her if it was normal for their practice to make patients wait an hour to see a doctor. She said no, she was just running behind. If I can give this place zero stars I would. First let me start by saying you don't get a personal experience here. Your treated as a number and not a patient. I went to one doctor who was trying to force me to switch my birth control and told me the symptoms that I experienced from the first time I used it weren't true. I am not willing to switch something that does work for me bc of your belief. ..My husband and I don't want kids and she kept asking if I needed an STD check. I kept trying to explain my husband and I don't want kids. We have been married for 6 years. How many times do I have to explain that. The comments you made , made me feel like I was sleeping around and banging every guy just bc I am on bc.Listening to your belief and not the reason why I am on it. This next time, I went back. I had already made an appointment w a new family doctor knowing I wasn't coming back. I needed this shot in the time frame. The nurse poked herself w a needle and they want me to go on my time now to get blood work done bc of her careless mistake. It was the last appointment. The doctor didn't even stick(no pun intended)around to see if I as her patient was ok( I didn't get poked , she did)I watched her put her coat on and leave. It was me and the careless nurse. She attempted to try to take blood and couldn't do it. I don't know why I tried to let her after her last mistake. She couldn't do it then. I am not using my own time if the doctor couldn't even wait around. Since it was her who got poked..she can go get tested. Again, I know I don't have anything but these people don't listen to you. I will be an ass about it bc of how I was treated for an appointment that should have taken 5 minutes at 630. I didn't get out of there til 8:00 after working an 8 hour day. Needless to say, don't go. Its aweful. My doctor I liked retired. Finding a new one has been a challenge. I wish I could go beyond Amita but bc of insurance reasons, I need to stay in this network. These doctors push their beliefs and ideas on you not caring about you as a patient or your belief. Being given ultimatum to get me to switch not cool especially when I said I need one more year bc of financial reason and what insurance will cover and not. Thank you but no thanks. Would not recommend at all - I have switched doctors now that I'm pregnant with Baby #2. I would habitually schedule an 8am appointment (first appt. of the day) and would always be waiting for 30-45 minutes. Most of the time, the doctor hadn't even shown up to the office yet. I'm not a person who asks a lot of questions, but I had maybe 1 or 2 simple ones at each appointment as it was my first pregnancy. Any time I tried to ask a question, it seemed like the doc or PA had one foot out the door already and seemed bothered that I would dare ask them something. Fast forward to when I actually had to deliver... Dr. Iyer shows up in her Grey's Anatomy-like pink stiletto heels and would randomly disappear to who-knows-where. I was told I had to wait to push until she returned. When she came back, she just walked in with her coffee as if it were nothing and didn't even seem phased that I was clearly ready to get the whole labor thing done and over with. I should probably also note that getting an epidural was one big mess too. For some reason they didn't have any of my bloodwork on file. To make sure I wasn't a carrier of any communicable disease, they had to draw blood from me and process the results before I could even get the epidural. By the time this was done, I was already 7cm dilated before I got the needle. This practice is clearly unorganized and quite frankly, a total joke. read more

Terrible. I went there for my appointment and ended up waiting almost 2 hours and didn't even get in to see the doctor! I got fed up after an hour and 45 minutes of waiting and asked to reschedule. If I wasn't in a bind I would go somewhere else. Let's hope my rescheduled appointment goes better but I'm not counting on it. read more

I highly recommend going somewhere else, I've been going to women's health first for years, and noticed a huge decline in their practice. They are very impersonal; treat you as a number rather than a patient. Always seem to rush when you finally seem them, when I've waited at least 45 mins.. and are not very informative just tell you how things will be without and explanation, and you have no say in anything. I switched practices half way through my pregnancy, and my new practice, and doctors are so wonderful. It's completely opposite than this practice! So happy to not go here anymore! read more

Uncaring and cold. Arrogant. To get records released, they said it's a 8 - 10 day wait. The office staff wanted to know the reason for changing doctors and said if it wasn't specific they'd call to find out why. The doctor didn't care and didn't take my concerns seriously. She offered medication for headache and when I questioned if it might hurt the baby, she was short and dismissive. She said if it was bad for the baby, we wouldn't have suggested it. They have 8 doctors and 3 PA, you have to see all of them. You can't choose one because that one might not be there when you deliver. Horrible, uncaring place! read more

do not trust these "medical professionals" for the following reasons: 1) neglected to report pertinent lab results. at all. 2) ill prepared at every single appointment. 3)sent to a specialist, which they did not follow up on for over a month. 4)staff have zero clue who you are, your issues, concerns, history is unknown to all. even with a computer in front of them. 5)rude&unprofessional. you would be better off seeking treatment from a veterinarian. coincidentally, there is one below their offices. read more

I agree with all these ladies and their review of this place. WORST PLACE EVER! - My first appointment was set up at the wrong time, they told me to arrive at a certain time and when I got there they made me wait almost 2 hrs before the physician saw me. Not only that, when I tried to asked why it was taking so long the lady in the front desk looked at me like I was crazy. When I got to see the physician, I told her that I had taken a pregnancy test and came out positive, she then asked someone to do another one to confirm. Once the test came out positive, EVERYTHING that came out of her mouth was like she was reciting, there was no congratulations, no smiles, NOTHING. - My second appointment, I arrived to the Schaumburg location and the first thing I see is a lady that gives me this look like I'm about to bother her, no smile, no how's your day going, no nothing. They also told me to not schedule appointments during my lunch because they say that the doctor may have to leave and then I explain my work schedule and all the lady says is 'oh, that's going to be hard...' no other options, no nothing. This time I got to see the doctor, I had to wait for about 30 min to get in and the doctor was with me for like 5 min. I told her I had 2 questions and I asked her one and she was already by the door ready to leave, I barely got an answer for my 2nd question! Again, no concern for me or how I'm doing, she only checked the folder and basically left. When you're pregnant you want guidance, understanding and be surrounded by people that are happy! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! They will not make you feel welcome or be happy for you and your baby. YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER PREGNANT PERSON THAT IS GIVING THEM MORE PROBLEMS!!! HORRIBLE ATTITUDE! NO SMILES! This was my first experience with Women's Health First LLC. I would say it was the WORST experience so far in my life. Staff at the reception is totally irresponsible and they don't know what their jobs are. 1. At my first prenetal care visit, the receptionist did not specify that I should be coming for Pregancy confirmation so that when I went inside the room, they said, you should reschedule because we have not put you down for Preganancy. I spent my 1 hour waiting and then they sent me back and rescheduled after 2 weeks. 2. When I went after 2 weeks, the receptionist said, we don't have any Dr. in today. They all are gone for the training so we will not see you and you need to reschedule again. This is the rediculas system I have even seen where Staff does not inform you well in advance that Dr. will not be available and we will reschedule you. I requested so much as it was my 9th week going on and I need to see the dr., they did not help me at all and talked to me very rudely. They were totally unprofessional, rude, un-welcoming and irresponsible for their work. Then I never went back again to this center and changed my OBGYN. I would never recommend Women's Health First where they never care about patients and show their rough attitudes. Please think twice before choosing this health care provider as they don't care about your health at all. read more

I have been going to this practice for a few years now and I have heard mixed reviews. However, I have never had a bad experience. I have seen all of the doctors and physician assistants at the office during my last pregnancy and for regular exams. I have my favorites, but there really isn't anyone I don't care for. The receptionists are ok...some are more friendly than others, but they always have appointments available same day. The nurses have been wonderful and so have the doctors. I love Dr. Szela, Dr. Iyer, Dr. KleinklausLee and Dr. Mlynarczyk. If you are not sure if you want to take the chance and try this office, just go for it! You might actually love the office and the staff... I know I do! read more

Completely incompetent. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I have been to 2 of the locations, Schaumburg and Hoffman and both were equally as bad. The receptionists cannot even be bothered to look up from their computer when they are speaking to you and I don't think they even know how to smile. I had a lot of complications so I had to go in many times within the month or two that I was going to this practice, and each time I kept thinking that it couldn't possibly be worse than the last visit. I was wrong. Out of all the visits that I was there, I probably spent a total of about 2 whole minutes with an OB. One of the visits I had to go back in to have a urine culture run, just to double check the first test. They make you pee in a cup EVERY visit (even when you are going daily like I was), I told her when I scheduled the appt that I needed to do further testing because my urinalysis was abnormal. When I got there, she gave me a cup, I gave the sample and then asked if I could go. She said no, I still had to see the doctor to go over the results of my last urine test. I told her I had already received them, that was why I was there, to perform further testing. She then said she gave me the wrong cup, gave me a cup of water and told me I would need to give another sample. I then had to sit for about an hour (on my lunch break) to build up my bladder to give a big enough sample. Fast forward to the first time I met with the actual OB, not the PA, I had tons of questions because this is my first pregnancy. The doctor had her hand on the door knob and kept trying to leave. Finally I asked about the results of my urine culture and apparently this was her opportunity, so she jumped out of the room and told me to follow her so she could find out. The most shocking thing of all was when I went in for an ultrasound and the PA started rambling about the measurements of my cervix and shot out a bunch of numbers. Again... my first pregnancy. I asked what she meant, instead of explaining why they would measure it to begin with, she just said, "You may not be able to hold a pregnancy." No further explanation at all. In major shock, I took a sick day from work because I was such a mess and then proceeded to google to figure out what the heck she was talking about. Everything online indicated that I was not in the "danger zone", so I called back to make her explain it and she said they were just going to be keeping an eye on it. I told her that I had thought all day that the baby might just fall out at any moment. I then went to a specialist to have my cervix monitored and discovered that they had done the test completely wrong, and the measurements were completely inaccurate. Womens Health First had done an external ultrasound, which cannot accurately give you a measurement of your cervix. They also never gave me the results of my genetic screening. So happy I got out of there when I did. I went to Northwest Associates for Women's Healthcare and am MUCH happier and feel much more comfortable. read more

I like all the doctors especially Dr. Elizabeth M. The receptions Laurie J is incredibly rude. She changes the atmosphere of the appointment when she "greets" you. I would give this place 5 stars because all of the MA's, PA's and doctors are excellent but it's just that one lady with a horrible attitude that's at the front desk. read more

Let me start by saying that I am shocked by the other reviews of this office! I double checked that I had the correct name because my experience was so completely different. I also find that I am picky and have higher standards because I am a nursing student. Therefore, I am crazy about cleanliness and proper procedures! The person that complained about the doctor asking you questions that you answered on a piece of paper, that is her being thorough and doing what she should. Some patients may misunderstand questions or answer them differently on the questionnaire. I too saw Dr. Amy Klienklaus-Lee and felt that she was wonderful. She spent time with me, answered my questions and was not in a hurry. Trust me, I've had that doctor. My first pregnancy was with a doctor that was difficult to understand and basically had one foot out the door as she was performing the exam!;) Might I also add that these doctors came recommended by my primary physician. Dr. Kleinklaus-Lee almost made it extremely clear that I would not here from the office if my results came back normal. This may explain why one reviewer had not received a call regarding her results. Last, I had an extremely pleasant experience with the office staff. They all seemed very friendly and tolerant. I say that because I had to bring my 2 and 4 year old boys who happen to be in trying moods. Just my luck on the day of a visit to the doctor! I had called a few times because I had to cancel an appointment and reschedule. Only one time did I get a receptionist that seemed a little less than friendly. Probably that older lady that was mentioned;) I hope that you give the office a try and that your experience is as good as mine. P.S- Some people might get really offended that I say this and I have been in this position but I am going to say it.... Keep in mind that things are worse when the hormones are off due to pregnancy. I honestly don't know where to start with this place. I had the worst experience of my life delivering my baby, when it should have been the happiest experience. They were all extremely disrespectful and didn't give an ounce of empathy or care to me, always forgot who I was, (when I went into labor, the doctor that was on site at St.Alexius that day asked me if he had ever met me... he had met me TWICE), and forced me to get an unwanted & unwarranted C-Section to bill my PPO insurance. I was stuck with the epidermal incorrectly TWICE, and felt EVERY labor pain for 10 hours straight. I was also told I couldn't push to have the baby naturally or I WOULD GET CPS called on me! I was told I couldn't have my 8 pound baby naturally and if I fought a C-Section, they would cut off my epidermal (towards the end when they stuck me and it somewhat started working against the worst pains known to man), call CPS on me, and refuse to deliver my baby. I had no choice but to agree to the C-section to relieve me of the hell pains that built up over 10 hours and were non-stop labor pains at this point. If I could give a negative star, I would! They will have no regards into the choices you want to make, they will only look at you as a $$ sign, and want to bill you for a c-section that you have no business getting! C-sections ruin your stomach, and you will always have a pouch from it, no matter how much you exercise. I also told them I wanted to hold my baby after the C-section for bonding time, and they said that that should be fine, but then after they took her out of me, they held my baby upside down and did not let me hold her! They also took my baby into NICU in order to bill my insurance yet again, even though there was NOTHING wrong with her whatsoever. Even the NICU nurses told me she was the healthiest baby, and that she was doing great and questioned why she was there. The Drs. said that she had a slight temperature after putting her under the heat lamps, where of course she will have a higher temp under that heated light. This is the worst place EVER. Iyer should not be called a doctor to begin with. She is an arrogant sadistic nightmare with no regard for human lifes, helpless babies or concerned pregnant mothers. Iyer delivered my baby who was in perfect position. She performed a weird painful procedure not explaining why. I could feel my baby squirming up under my ribs, she must have been hurting him too!!! He had no room to run and she flipped him over FACE UP right before labour. I am considering taking her to court for causing me a horrible efforts to deliver my third child who came our bruised, deformed and I tore in every direction ( even my clit was sewn!). My first and second were born easily with minor episiothomy and I was expecting an easy third labor. It's Iyers fault that even now, when my baby is a beautiful healthy 10 month old I still feel like overstreched turkey cavity, intimate life is ruined and my marriage is suffering. Every day is poisoned by hating this sadistic creep for ruining me as a woman. All these Kegel exercises don't help much after delivering baby face first. I read the reviews before going to Dr. Anita Iyer but decided to give her and the practice a try and come to my own conclusion. I'm really happy that I did. The entire staff was very professional and helpful. I was worried about having to wait because of the reviews that I had read but was seen right away. would not recommend!! now amita health!! wish i read reviews before i scheduled my visit!! the wait for the doctor truly is a nightmare (my appointment was at 9 didn't leave the place till 11) they have 4 locations 7 doctors but closed on Saturdays? had blood work and an ultrasound .. (Barrington, IL location) technician there very cold older lady took between 1-2 min with her camera and said i doesn't see a pregnancy.. my first thought was " did you even look?" next day i got a phone call from one of the doctors saying that hormones in fact are going up and the technician should of seen something on the seen but since she didn't see a pregnancy it might be an ectopic that might burst any time and we have to rush to emergency room... after 6 hrs in emergency room i get the news that in fact the pregnancy is in the uterus and hormones are good. the amount of unnecessary stress that they put me and my husband that day is just insane!! now I'm looking at $4000.00 bill for an unnecessary visit to the emergency room + hospital charges. called to be contacted by their manager and 7 business days later I'm being told the must not have had time to get back to you i will submit another note for them... -patient cant call doctors office directly but have to call a call center.. one girl in particular seems like she just doesn't care- i called she says no there is no other appointments available..called back just to make sure if she checked other locations very nice older lady picked up and surely found different appointment times at different locations.. other time same young girl picks up and plain asked me a private questions that should be between me and the doctor..i was speechless why would i explain my business to a secretary -very unprofessional in my book !!! in addition it is very hard to get a call back from a doctor .. been calling for 2 days left 4 messages and finally got a nurse on the phone to answer my question.. read more

I would not recommend this office at all. The facility is not clean. The wait is too long. I stayed with them for about a year and it was a year too long. I always had to wait 45 minutes to 1 hour before I was able to be seen. The staff is not very friendly and the doctors are always out. I remember twice my appointment had to be rescheduled with Dr. Iyers because the secretary said she had an emergency delivery. The secretary told me this after I had to wait for an hour. I didn't understand why she had to leave on an emergency if it is a rotating doctor's office which means that each of the doctors are assigned days in which they work at the hospital and days in which they are taking appointments. Maybe she just wanted to leave early. Not professional at all. It is always hard to schedule an appointment. Finally, they always have issues processing my PPO insurance paperwork. I pretty much spent my entire year on the phone doing the billing office's job. Overall, bad experience. Obviously I am no longer a patient there and I don't recommend you be either. Run very far away. read more
