I have received two pregnancy tests for two planned pregnancies over the last few years, and one free ultrasound (first pregnancy ended in miscarriage). Also, when I was struggling with my blood pressure during the second pregnancy, the Women's Care Center provided me with free counseling where I sat down with someone once every few weeks and she really helped me process my stressful doctor's appointments. I've taken my kids to their story time many times and love seeing other moms and babies, listening to great books and songs, getting free diapers- it's just a great supportive place. In reading the negative review here, yes, the Women's Care Center does not perform abortions. That's just not a service they offer, nor do they make that claim on their website or even hint at that. I've even had a friend receive a free car seat adjustment check here. Right? So many resources! They don't share anything or ask anything about religious beliefs, but they ARE there to support you during your pregnancy and through your parenthood. Thank you Women's Care Center! What struck me first time I walked into a Women's Care Center was the calm, beautiful space, and then I found out that the counselors are all so genuine, warm, and welcoming. The Women's Care Center provides pregnant women with a safe, non-judgmental, and (important!) non-coercive place to get all the information they need in order to make their own best decisions. read more

BEWARE: If you google "abortion clinics in south bend, Indiana" the WOMENS CARE CENTER will appear as a result. It is a good place to go if abortion is not an option, but if you believe abortion is the best for you and are seeking somewhere that will refer you, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. This is a CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER (pro-life center). Their website (www.womenscarecenter.org) is misleading and causes women to believe they will provide abortion information and offer abortion referrals; however this is not true. They will give you false information over abortion; tell you it is very painful, there are life long psychology effects and regret, and will tell you that "all" couples break up after an abortion (even if both parties believed it was the best option.) My personal experience: I did not know about crisis pregnancy centers. I googled "abortion clinics in south bend Indiana" and this was one of the first to appear. When I called, I explained my situation and informed them I wanted to discuss options regarding abortion and where to go. The women on the phone proceeded comply, and scheduled my appointment along with scheduling me for an ultrasound to determine how far along I was. I figured this was routine procedure before being given abortion referrals. At my appointment, I was given false information on the risks of abortion, why I should have a baby regardless of my future goals and that I could still achieve them, and told repeatedly that my boyfriend and I were going to break up if I had this abortion (even though we both 100% agreed it was the best option). Before the ultrasound, I said I did not want to see anything. However, the woman who gave me my ultrasound (not trained, by the way) attempted to "guilt trip" me the entire time she doing the ultrasound. At the end of my appointment, I finally addressed my purpose for coming there: "where is the best place for an abortion?" That's when the women said "oh, we don't give abortion referrals." Then suggested I come back next week for another ultra sound, and they scheduled me regardless of my hesitation. After leaving there, I did research and got in touch with a REAL abortion clinic in Michigan, explained what happened, and that's when I was informed that I had gone to a crisis pregnancy center. I am now in the hands of honest, judgement free, and safe abortion providers. I did not go to my appointment they forcefully scheduled, and stopped answering all their phone calls. It's been over a month, and I still get phone calls from them. If you want to choose life for your baby, go here. They will help you so much. BUT, if abortion is a legitimate option for you, DO NOT COME HERE. Find an actual abortion provider and get the honest facts on abortion before officially making your decision.
