I feel I owe it to neighbors to warn about this company. I share a fence with a neighbor which blew…read moredown in March this year. My neighbor and I called around and found estimates -- he found Outback Fencing had the most competitive price so we went with them. It turned out too good to be true. The guys came a week late than they said to remove the remains of our existing fence and dig & set concrete for the posts. In the process they destroyed two sprinkler heads which I asked them to fix. One was fixed -- the other they poured a cement block around and attached a pipe (which was broken at the top) with no head. I had to go to Home Depot and buy tools to cut the pipe, and glue a cap on top. Picture attached of the capped pipe. This pipe being completely surrounded by cement, is now impossible to repair unless I dig, cut and re-pipe on one or the other side of the cement. The workers then vanished and didn't show up until a week or two later on a Friday afternoon at 2pm to finish the job before the weekend. And boy did it show (see pictures below) -- problems everywhere. Wax markings all over the slats, nails completely missing 2x4s, and misaligned slats / posts / top 2x4s all over the place. I mean, about as hasty and bad as it gets. We were quoted $1800 for the fence which my neighbor and I split -- when the owner Rusty called to collect the remaining $900, I asked him to politely offer a discount of some sort for me neighbor and I given all the problems. He became angry and demanded pay and went off about how people are not trying to pay -- I made it clear I wasn't evading payment, but that I would like him to please consider a discount and allow me to email him these pictures to see for himself. The problem is not avoiding or delaying payment -- the problem is the horrible fence work. After getting Rusty's email, I thanked him for hearing me out and detailed what I'm detailing here (along with pictures) in email. In return I received terse emails again asking for payment. He did say they would take care of these things after payment, so I put a check in the mail June 1. It's after July 4th and haven't heard a word. Pick anyone else in the SLC valley, get a good fence, and save yourself the heartache. Unless you want this kind of fence, then see for yourself with the attached pictures what you can expect.
