Here's why I never went back: After my second appointment, I took a seat in her waiting room which was empty to look for something in my purse before leaving. It was lunchtime. The doctor sat down near me and, after a couple of minutes, causally told me it was "too bad your parents didn't know about your (genetic) condition before birth so they could have made the appropriate decision." Yes, she actually communicated to me my Mother should have aborted me. I was so shocked I didn't respond. I didn't confront her for her heinous claim I should have been violently killed before birth. If that were to happen today, I'd have a very different response. But the point is I don't trust anyone, let alone a doctor, who has judged me unworthy of my life. This still makes no sense to me some several years later. How could someone say something so terrible to another human being? But it actually happened, and I think the world should know about it. Utterly unconscionable words from a supposed healer.

Dr. Bowes was my original provider here and he is great, but a little quick and often out delivering babies. I recently switched to Jamie, a PA at this office, and she's amazing. She provides great care, listens to all of my concerns and questions, and is open, warm, and nonjudgmental. I highly recommend Jamie and hope she sticks around at Grand Rapids Women's Health for a long time so I can continue to have her as my provider. I've never had any issues with billing, appointments, or anything else. Plus they have a parking lot that they validate, and it's close to my house. Definitely will continue to seek care here as long as I can!

The girls there just asked for insurance never clearly explained to her because of the language barrier she was going to get an additional bill. My parents final caved and paid three months after the fact with the constant harassment. I tried calling several times trying to resolved this and because of the inhuman way of treating clients no one every contacted my parents. To say the least my sister and I have gone there for years and will never step foot in there establishment again. I do not recommended them to anyone who might be looking for a place that is caring and treat people with dignity.
