If you're looking for a home solar system, I cannot recommend Cosmo Solaris highly enough. We used…read moreEnergy Sage to help us gather quotes and figure out how to analyze them on an apples-to-apples basis. My wife and I initially wanted to just partially replace our grid purchased electrical energy to help reduce our carbon footprint. But when we ran the numbers over a 15-year time frame, it didn't make financial sense for us. Knowing that energy costs will just keep going up, the cost of a smaller, partial system wasn't viable. We went back to the two best quotes that we had received and spoke with their sales reps. Hassan at Cosmo Solaris was just awesome. We asked him, how close to 100% energy replacement can you get us for no more than "X" number of dollars? We asked the other company the same question and gave them the same cost limit. Hassan came back with a proposal for 100% replacement at our budget--18.9 kW system with guaranteed 26,600 KWh annual production minimum. the other company's answer was 78%. I'm a retired engineer so I dug deep into Cosmo Solaris' quote and examined the engineering documents and researched the parts they proposed (panels, rails/mounts, microinverters, etc.). Their proposal did not cut any corners; everything was top of the line. Cosmo Solaris included purchasing a 3rd party 30-year warranty insurance on every part and the labor for the whole system. Other companies touted their own warranty and the various parts manufacturer's warranties. Well, I know from hard experience, a warranty is only good for as long as that company remains in business. With Cosmo Solaris offering a 3rd party warranty from an insurance company, if anything goes wrong for the next 30 years and Cosmo Solaris or any of the various parts manufacturers go out of business, we're still fully covered, the insurance will pay for equivalent parts and pay for labor. Awesome peace of mind. After signing the contract, Cosmo Solaris earned top marks for communication (thank you Martin!) and making good on all promises. The system was installed on time (actually finished a little early), inspection went smoothly because everything was done correctly, and when we got final approval from our grid provider, my wife and I threw the switch together to go live! Energy Sage helped us evaluate the financial side very well, in our case our breakeven will be in about six years (due to the unusually high cost of energy where we live) since we purchased outright and thus no interest to pay. Yes, there is Present Cost of Money and Lost Opportunity cost if you go that deep, however that is all more than offset by the 30% Federal Tax rebate and the state credits (SRECs-which Cosmo Solaris guaranteed for 15 years). An advisor at Energy Sage compared our system to buying a six-year annuity, once we're past that six-year breakeven point our Cosmo Solaris system will pay thousands of dollars every year in "dividends" providing free energy for 30+ years! Thank you, Cosmo Solaris and Energy Sage.

I am filing this complaint against Dolbier Disaster Restoration (DDR ) for reasons that are listed…read morebelow. These events occurred while they were repairing our roof. A large tree limb fell onto our roof. It created holes in the shingles, sheeting and decking. The damages were covered by our home owner's insurance policy. The insurance adjuster allowed for replacing the shingles and sheeting on the entire roof and to repair the damaged decking. DDR was selected to do the repairs, they were provided with the adjusters' scope of damages--replace the entire roof and repair decking. I used the following terms to identify my view of the structure of a roof. Shingles are on top of the roof, sheeting goes between the shingles and the decking, we had two layers of sheeting, felt and titanium, decking are 4x8 sheets of wood that are attached to the rafters. The roof that was struck by the limb and authorized for repairs was one entire side of a gable roof. I happened to climb on to the roof and observed the roofers as they were working. This is what I observed-- 1. Approximately 1/3rd of the roof had been removed. The roofers were in the process of replacing this part of the roof. The balance of the roof was untouched. DDR was authorized by the insurance adjuster and myself to replace the entire roof. They arbitrarily opted to only do 1/3rd of the roof. Why would DDR replace 1/3rd when they were requested and authorized to replace the entire roof ? 2. I observed that the roofers were in the process of laying down felt paper. They were rolling the felt over a large hole. The hole was very noticeable- it was about six inches wide. A visual inspection showed the hole was also in the decking. The titanium was not present. It was very clear that the workers were going to cover the hole and not repair the decking. There were other holes in the roof. They had already covered these holes with the felt paper. There was no material on the roof to repair holes. It seems reasonable to assume that the other holes were not repaired-they were covered with felt. Later I found on the ground the piece of titanium paper that cover the hole, apparently the roofer cut it off and threw it over the side. It has a large tear where that the limb made I have this piece of titanium. I contacted DDR and advised them of this situation. A few days later a different crew arrived. They properly replaced and repaired the entire roof. A frightening thought --Without proper roof repairs, rain would continue to entered our home year after year. We all can envision the consequence of the damages this would have cause to our home. Thank goodness my 78-year-old body gave me the strength to climb onto the roof. I do wonder if this happened to a person unable to climb onto the roof, or assumes the repairing company would do what the insurance company felt necessary to properly repair their roof. Can you imagine what their life would be like when these defects was discovered ??? FYI, I've been in the property casualty and risk management insurance for over 40 years. My first job was a claims adjuster. I've worked with very honorable professionals. It is very difficult for me to imagine that companies can provide this type of service and walk away leaving the homeowner in a pickle while there were fully compensated. Thanks for taking time to review this matter. Regards, Tim Cummings, CPCU
