The aisles were elsewhere narrow and the shelves were packed with all sorts of food and other items. Tip - Stick to the area dedicated to wine and skip the satellite areas for the best selection of the regional Alto-Adige whites. On our second visit, we took a hard right past the entrance and found ourselves in what my fellow Iowans would call the "Farm and Home" Department. Dairy farming is big in these parts and this part of the Konsum Market seemed to cater well to those needs. Dairy Cows were all over Seiser Alm when we were hiking through, and there was a certain comfort and pleasure in hearing the various tinkling as we passed by these noble beasts. So what better way to remember our wonderful alpine experience than a genuine Cow Bell? And many thanks to Stefan at the Hotel Cavallino d'Oro/Goldenes Rössl for his suggestion that we would find it here. I wasn't going to settle for some cheesy ceramic tourist shop bovine or other forgettable souvenir. I wanted the real 4H deal, or at least a carved Schlernhex (witch) if that didn't work out. This place had just what I wanted and with several sizes and collar options to choose from. I bought 2 sets for both me and my Son. Gayle hopes it will help her find us when we happen to wander too far away. :)
