From local poultry, cured meats and cheeses to prepared foods, fresh baked breads, flowers and everything in between, Wochenmarkt is a mecca for shoppers. Every Wednesday and Saturday the sleepy courtyard in front of the cathedral comes alive with vendors and shoppers offering an experience that is truly unique and European. It is tough to know where to start when speaking of this market. As cliche as it sounds you truly have to see it to believe it. A wide array of items are available at this market from prepared meals, meats and produce to flowers, leather goods, herbs, spices and more. From truly affordable to necessary luxuries this market offers everything and everything. Be sure to check out the pictures and do yourself the real honor of visiting in person!

(It's on twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays) You can find loads of different things/groceries there ranging from (organic) veg and fruit over meat and fish (e.g. Dutch Matjes) to honey and sweets. Also there are some stalls selling pieces of hand-made jewellery, woollen goods and other little creative things. It can expensive alright but it's worth the experience. Everybody's really friendly and always willing to let you try bits and pieces. A further plus are the few stalls selling hot meals, too. So stuff like Chinese food, fish & chips, potato pancakes and cakes won't have you starving at all.
