Floating along like Bugs Bunny to the source, I came upon the Landhof Standl, and nearly found myself overwhelmed for all the choice presented to me. At the front of the store, there were hanging sausages of all shapes, sizes, and tastes. In the refrigerated counter, there were smaller and unsmoked sausages, while further towards the back there is a hot bar where you can buy schnitzel, sauerkraut, and various sorts of sides to go with them. Along the right wall are innumerable beverages, including a fantastic sparkling Apfelschorle in a massive 1L bottle. With absolutely no regrets, I can tell you I went nuts in here. Leberkäse, sausages, mini sausages, smoked sausages all got picked and put into a bag. But, since I was in Germany...potatoes, kraut, and a couple of schnitzels also had to be ordered from the hot bar. I took it all to go, and stopped by the next-door bakery for some pretzels and bread, and proceeded to have an absolutely kick-ass picnic. All of the wursts were wonderful, and the schnitzel perfectly beaten thin. While the kraut could have been better, I had to remind myself that this was pre-made takeaway, and still beat most every similar restaurant I've found in the States - and this was inside a shopping mall! I love this place, and next time I'm back in the area, I know what will be on my shopping list while at Limbecker Platz.

(It's on twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays) You can find loads of different things/groceries there ranging from (organic) veg and fruit over meat and fish (e.g. Dutch Matjes) to honey and sweets. Also there are some stalls selling pieces of hand-made jewellery, woollen goods and other little creative things. It can expensive alright but it's worth the experience. Everybody's really friendly and always willing to let you try bits and pieces. A further plus are the few stalls selling hot meals, too. So stuff like Chinese food, fish & chips, potato pancakes and cakes won't have you starving at all.
