If you want them to not pick up your trash the week before a holiday, the week of a holiday, and the week after a holiday, this is the trash company for you. They have missed three out of the four weeks this month of picking up our trash, we call and file a missed pick up and they promise they'll be out next week. They continue to miss us. They say they can't find our trashcan when it has been sitting at the end of our driveway for three whole weeks and it seems to be a game on the phone to cancel their service as my husband spent 45 minutes doing that and got nowhere. bad service all around read more

Pickups are inconsistent. Trash used to be picked up on Fridays and about once a month my trash wouldn't be picked up. They just changed our pickup day to Tuesdays to "better service my area" and two weeks in a row they haven't picked up my trash. I have the truck on camera just rolling right past my can. The first missed pickup I was told that someone would be back by the end of business the next day. No one ever picked up the trash and I got an email saying my pickup had been rescheduled to the next normal pickup day...that's just a normal pickup, not an extra pickup like I should have had because my first pickup wasn't done. A week goes by and I get my trash out the night before as usual and once again my trash isn't picked up. I was in my driveway and watched them drive past. I immediately called so that the truck could just drive back past the house and pick it up since they had JUST driven by. A note is in the system that the Driver says that no trash can was put out. I was once again told that my trash would be picked up by end of business today. Just checked, and I have an email saying my trash will be picked up next week. Reached out to customer service and she confirmed that. Says she can give me a credit for one week. No. Would not recommend this company if they were the only trash company within 100 miles. read more

There are some good things about this business. The whole reason I ended up choosing them is because most disposal services have the same office hours I do. Most of WM competitors do not allow you to purchase services online, which was upsetting to me. When I found out that WM allowed that, I went with that. I think they charged a little more than their competitors which is probably why I was the only one in the neighborhood using this company. However, the service switched the day of pick up with never telling us! So we missed out on delivery for three weeks and didn't know what was going on. When we called, they said just to put all the trash we had out by the road...although we couldn't because we didn't own another can. There were many times they did not pick up our trash which is upsetting when you are paying for a service that needs weekly pickups. Also when we called to do monthly payments after our year contract because our house was up for sale and we didn't know when it would sell, it took many calls after we were told it was "handled" for it to actually reflect on our account. I would not recommend using this company if you live in Portage. You would better be served by Republic. read more

On December 19th, 2016, I ordered a 20 yard dumpster for a project on a lake cottage. I was charged $696.92 for this dumpster. At that time I agreed upon a pickup date for the dumpster. When I checked my credit card statement the charge was on there 2 times. I called waste management and told them I was charged 2 times. They said I was wrong and they only charged me once. Since they refused to verify that, I called my credit card company and disputed one of the 2 charges. I thought everything was ok. When it was time to pick up the dumpster I called for a pickup. They showed up said they couldn't pick up the dumpster due to the rain we had received. They said would come back and after it stopped raining. 2 weeks went by and after several calls from me, they finally picked up the dumpster and dropped off a clean one. I did call and ask that that dumpster be left on site for a few extra days. That dumpster was picked up. I received a bill in February, which I paid, for $815.76. I received a bill in March, which I paid, for $566.75 I received a bill in April for $1,081.75. When I received the bill in April, I called to dispute the charges with Waste management. After a conversation that lasted about 45 minutes, where I explained what happened, the women I talked to said they had made a mistake in the billing, not to pay the last bill and a response to the dispute would be issued to me within 10 days. I received another bill this morning, with late charges tacked on and no explanation about the dispute. I called to find out what happened and the women I talked to the dispute had been denied. Told me they would knock off the late fee since they never bothered to let me know they denied the dispute, with no explanation. read more
