Fortino Painting - Newly stained vacation home

    Fortino Painting

    (7 reviews)

This review is for Fortino Painting of Pueblo West. My…read moreproject consisted of the airless spraying of the exterior walls (all stucco), eaves, trim, etc. and exterior doors of my house, garage, and two other small outbuildings. There were numerous places that the paint was passable from one angle but light/non-existent from a different angle. Of course, I didn't discover these until days/weeks later but Joe wanted paid immediately. Don't pay him until you have thoroughly examined everything, EVERYTHING; otherwise once he's paid there's a good chance of you not seeing him again. They're not much good at brush work either. One door needed repainting, which they did but it looked (I have pics.) like it was repainted with cottage cheese. It took me hours to strip it down correctly, sand and then repaint it myself. The other main issue I have concerned approx. 150 sq. ft. of faux rock. It was painted but we both agreed that it would need another coat and that he would return, but not right away. I literally asked him to give me his "word-of-honor" (which he did) that if I paid him an additional $400 up front (which I did), he would return to complete this. It's been approx. 11 weeks since an initial call to him to return to fulfill our agreement. He said he would be contacting me to setup a day to return but hasn't contacted me and has since been ignoring/avoiding my attempts to contact him (calls/emails) to fulfill our verbal contract. Get everything in writing, as he will tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear! I honestly don't believe he is a real painter, but a wannabe who had a little money and thought he'd open a business. If you want someone who stands by you and his performance with your project, Joe Fortino is NOT your man. When it happens to you, don't say you weren't warned! Any man who will not keep his word is a real piece of (hmmm) work...

I made an appointment on the website for someone to come give an estimate to paint the exterior of…read moreour house. The appointment was for 4pm yesterday. I got several texts, one saying they were on the way and the last one said they were 5 minutes out, but no one showed up and no one has responded to my text asking why no one showed up. All communication seems to be on auto-response. Not a good way to do business.

Terrible service! Our crooked builder seems to team up with other crooked contractors in…read moreWestcliffe. If the owner's son comes to work on your home don't let him in because he's bound to create problems and then blame them on the homeowner. In a course of several months we dealt with Rainbow plumbing and they failed both the rough-in and trim inspection (permit expired and they never finished), 3 major plumbing failures that resulted in damage and didn't do what the homeowners requested. Rough-in inspection, Failed right off the bat and was told by Rainbow that plumbing codes had changed. Basically the plumber Chris was incompetent and creates more problems then he fixes. Anyway, the pipe was relocated and basically a huge hole was covered up under the basement shower and left to fail. We ended up filling the cavity with self leveling concrete so a future failure wouldn't happen. As for the plumber, he left the cavity since it was under concrete and most homeowners would have never checked their crappy work. After time and use the shower floor would have collapsed. Trim inspection, Failed and sabotaged by Rainbow. Rainbow called for the final/ trim inspection and of course failed yet again. Components that were required for inspection (installed and paid for prior to rough-in inspection) were removed by the Rainbow to be re-used on another project and caused the inspection to instantly fail. I believe this is illegal. Funny thing, a few weeks later they let the permit expire without ever finishing the job. Major failures- 1) Used a old crappy clamp on the dishwasher drain connection. As a result the clamp failed first use and water soaked new hardwood floors and caused them to warp and water eventually seeped into the basement. 2) Leak behind tub, drywall and tile. 90 degree elbow cracked failed after being over tightened and caused the homeowners to remove everything in the immediate space to resolve the issue. Water flooded the basement and created more damage. 3) Hose connection failed in garage. Once again the 90 degree elbow was overtightened and caused damage to the home. Resulted in removing drywall and insulation to let the basement dry out. Bottom line is that they are several plumbers in Westcliffe besides Rainbow Plumbing and I recommend that use one of them. If the other outfits are busy then feel free to bring in Pros from Canon City, Pueblo or Colorado Springs.

This is your guy! If…read moreyou want an unprofessional contractor who drags a job out and charges you for additional Permit's due to his tardiness, Heath is your guy! Don't schedule if you are a small job. His big contracts come first, even though your new home sits there waiting on the trim out for your toilet, sink and tub. If you want a contractor who punches a huge hole in your roof, which leaked water. returns to repair it and it still has water issues, this is your guy! A Horrible communicator, can't commit, nor keep those rare appointments he does book, there's always some crisis or vacation that takes priority, and always blames the client or poor cell service for his inability to show up and finish the job. We would drive over 7 hours to be available for the dates set, no call no show But it's still our fault because we didn't respond to a test that never existed. When pressed to pick a date he threatens to call the State Inspector and withdraw his permit, which we paid for, twice. Heath admitted he drug this project out and would honor his original bid despite costs being more. He eventually told us to find someone else when I dared confront him about finishing. He will never be back on our property! Hired another company from Pueblo to complete the job. Now we can finally get rid of this headache by hiring a real professional. If that's type of stress and frustration is what you're looking for, Heath at Rainbow is your guy!
