I started watching Fox 2 News morning about 20 years ago because it was the only station with just local news in the early morning. It was great to listen to while I was getting ready for work. I still watch every single day from the time I get up until noon most of the time. I love the morning crew, with the exception of Cam. I sometimes think she has early onset dementia. She repeats herself, she makes absolutely no sense when ad-libbing during broadcast, she's RUDE and never, ever seems believable (such as the Phyllis Diller laugh). Why she is still on the show is beyond me because she adds NOTHING! Now to Jason Carr and Lee Thomas......up until several months ago, they were a couple of my favorite people in the morning, however, Jason now does the growl voice much too often and it just ruins his delivery. Lee Thomas has gotten around to doing the same darned thing and it just doesn't have any place on this type of show. I mute the TV when they start that silly back and forth nothingness that Fox has put in as filler to make sure someone is talking the whole time during the very long morning broadcast. I know that all of the local stations do it, but, WHY do they send street reporters out in horrendous weather, late at night, when no one is around, to follow up on stories that are many hours and sometimes days old? It makes the station managers look like idiots, not the reporters, and you don't get any more information than if they just did the report in the studio. LET IT RIP! One of the worst parts of Huel Perkins spots. It's just chaos that no one can decipher because everyone talks over everyone, including Perkins. The only person with enough real talent and control to host LET IT RIP is Taryn Asher! That girl knows how to take control and/or get people back on track. I watch her every time and turn off the Huel segments. I wish they'd make some of the young, new people that they have on the street (Amy Adams, Roop Raj, Erica Erikson, and Robin more permanent studio personalities. It's so nice when they replace the people that are on vacation. Deana Centofanti, is without a doubt, the central star in the morning. Now that Jay Thomas is on for the weekday mornings, it's a great show. Q is a really pleasant person to listen to also and was a great addition to the team. I'll keep watching every day, but please put Cam somewhere else, like maybe find a radio station to put her back on. read more

The Good Day Detroit show is a joke and rather than fix it, they extended it for an hour. They always have technical issues with sound and show the wrong headings to the stories. The cast is goofy and unprofessional. It is like watching some terrible SNL skit when the Weather Boys do those segments. Marielle has always been about herself and stupid celebrities, so adding her to Deana and Ryan at 9am is brutal. Deana seems like a nice person, although rather bossy, however listening to her stumble on her words and watching her talk with her hands excessively is just too much. She also needs to stay out of her daughters closet, since some things are just too short for her age. Ryan just talks way too loud period! They are always playing with the sound for him creating an echo and who wants to hear him yelling "goooood morning" at 9am. He looks like he is always laughing when he talks and is just about sports; nothing else intelligent to say. It would also be nice to be able to watch the weather without having to turn up the volume because Lori is whispering. It is also difficult to concentrate on the weather when the meteorologist is dressed like a circus clown. Worst whoredrobe ever! And the style guy, seriously! No Caucasian straight man would ever dress like that. It is obvious that this show is no longer targeting my demographic. It has become the value menu of newscasts!!! read more

With all these bad reviews, you would think they would get a clue and fix things. Deanna dresses like she bought out Foverever 21, but doesn't realize that doesn't work when you are in your 50's. She cannot speak well unless she is reading script, otherwise she is stumbling on her words. The worst is her talking with her hands constantly which makes her unwatchable. Then there is Ryan trying to be Robin Williams with his "goooood moooorning" crap. Just stop! They always have the sound messed up causing a stupid echo every time. He is not smart enough to discuss anything other than sports. Then there is Marielle. The most narcissistic person on the team. She is all about herself and showing her trophy on the air in the background. She is extremely shallow! Lori sits while doing the weather at times and speaks so low you can't hear her. She also dresses like a pimp or circus clown which is extremely distracting. The Weather Boys looks like some sad skit done on a bad children's show. They are always having technical issues with sound, video, the wrong text for the wrong story. We watch Fox 2, just to see how stupid they are. Every week you will hear about Ryan's diets and the zipper merge, which doesn't work, because all it takes is 1 or 2 people who will not let you in. The women have no idea how to dress, Stephanie looks like she is going to the bar to pick up some guy. No one wants to see up Deena or Merilou dress only to see their lumps and bumps. Merilou should be fired because she's never at work, and is so racists. Ryan should be put on a sports station and keep him there. He pretends that everyday is great, only to complain about everything. I enjoy the show the most when Ryan and Merilou are not on, then you have Erica who has a personality along with the weather boys and Josh. read more

I like Fox 2, but Josh Landon and Robin Murdock make me want to tear my hair out. I usually just get up and walk away. Josh can't speak properly or read apparently. It's painful to listen to! Regarding channel 2 and 4 in Detroit! They have RUINED this news station. EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY MORNING I looked forward to Brandon Roux's forecasts. NOW, they have moved him to the weekend and some evenings. IT is NOT the same! Evrod is gone from weekday mornings as well. I AM NO LONGER WATCHING! I have tried and it is not the same! THERE IS NO LONGER THE SAME CHEMISTRY, boring! I had always watched channel 4 weekday mornings and channel 2 weekends for Michael Estime and Charlie and Maurielle. I really enjoy Detroit Fox 2 news. Not sure why there are so many dislikes here . They have a very good chemistry. I used to watch Channel 7 news and grew up on Channel 7 news with Bill Bonds and Dianna Lewis etc... The news on 2 is done well and professionally. I like that they have fun. There are a couple of the anchors I don't especially enjoy but that's just my personal preference. With that many anchors it's unlikely that you enjoy them all. I appreciate they all have different personalities - that's why it DOES work. Do you really want everyone nodding their heads in agreement and being clones of one another? Its a workplace- Like any workplace. There is NO WAY that everyone is your favorite in your workplace. Keep doing what you're doing! I used to love to watch the Nine so much, that I recorded it . Just to hear Ryan Ermanni rant on whatever news happening that there was. His rants were priceless, he was a real person with his family living in the suburbs that we could all relate to. The best is when the camera centered on him and he would just go off on what was wrong . He told it like it is and he told it real and he wasn't censored. And then I don't know what happened but you made him stop doing it ! guessing it had to do with political reasons although Ryan was never political . Now all he talks about is sports, he's like a puppet that you're controlling with the strings. It's gross. I have stopped recording it , and I barely watch it anymore . Channel 2 news is very repetitive . I know , I KNOW, there's more happening out in Michigan then the shootings in Detroit, over and over again !! I LOVE the genuine, intelligent Deena and her health works segment. I look forward to Lee telling me what to watch each weekend, and Derek and Alan Longstreet are BY FAR, the best weather people out there! Sorry, but Lori Pinson is nauseating. Yes hello. I used to watch channel 2 news but no more. The other news channels are classy. They take the news seriously. Channel 2 especially the nine and the noon are totally inappropriate. They dress like they're looking for a date marielle is in love with her self and it shows. But we want news and most of the time they're just talking amongst themselves. Family and each other how they've been etc. We're busy people we want the news not listening about their personal lives. They joke around to much. I used to watch The Nine Fox 2 every morning and loved it. Now that annoying Marielle Lue has a bigger role I can't take it anymore. She's loud with that fake smile and just disrupts everything with her know it all attitude but in reality she's so shallow. It's obvious she's constantly looking at the monitor to see herself. We watch the news a lot in my home and we love Fox 2! It's the main news station watched in our house aside from Channel 4. Huel rocks (he and Dan Miller, the main sports guy, rock the nicest suits) and Charlie LeDuff is always highly entertaining to watch. Huel is very much an old school journalist in that he likes to stick with and report the FACTS versus injecting his own personal slant in an undercover way like so many other journalists these days. I appreciate that he remains objective, yet still provokes thought. The morning crew is good too (although the uptight older blonde, Cam?, needs to pull the stick she has in her butt out about 2 inches). Winning that coffee mug in the morning contest has become my white whale. The only thing about this station is that they CONSTANTLY have text mistakes up on the screen and it doesn't matter what time of day it is. Misspellings GALORE! Sometimes it looks like someone is going fast and transposes letters other times you will notice it is out and out the WRONG WORD (phonetically spelled out). I'm convinced that the employees in charge of this task are likely graduates of the Detroit Public School system. It makes me quite embarrassed for them. I watched the Fox station out of the Tampa area for years and years, and NYC before that, and I rarely saw onscreen misspellings occur, if ever. I've only been in the Detroit metro area a little over 2 years and, wow, what a difference in the grasp of simple English language. Minus 1 star for that. I've noticed there is a difference in urban news and felt like I was back in New York with all the random, senseless violence and gun crimes reported out of Detroit. And what is it with the people of Detroit and their penchant for firebombs/Molotov cocktails? I do hope the city pulls itself up out of the crapper. It's all kinda sad and frustrating to hear about the constant troubles and crime. I think Detroit can be a great city in time with the RIGHT leadership. Edited to add: The stock, real-people-on-the-street footage this station uses for news stories can be funny sometimes. I know some clips I've seen had to have been straight out of the 1990's because of the clothes and hairstyles. read more

The quality/professionalism of news reporting and presentation on tv has really deteriorated. I happened to be off work and around 10:30am turned on fox 2 news. There were three news analyst's, two did all the talking, but a blonde analyst never said anything. All she did was nod her head, smile, make face expressions, and dressed like she was going out on a Friday night. If I want to look at pretty news analysts, then I'll watch the NFL. read more

I was interviewed by a report for WJBK on Jan 8, 2018 at the Emagine Theatre in Novi, MI. This followed a debate by six candidates running for the House of Representatives for the 13th Congressional district in Michigan. The interview ran on the news that evening. I reviewed the video the next day and discovered that it had been edited. The question was "What did I feel was most important to me?" I replied "National security". This question was edited out. The reporter then asked which candidate I thought would best address this issue. I answered "Kerry Bentivolio". This answer was edited out. I understand time constraints with live TV, but this interview was less than 20 seconds in length. Why was the interview edited? Why was Congressman Bentivolio's name edited out? Apparently one can't go to WJBK to get the news in its entirety. I'll be switching to Chanel 7. read more

I have noticed more and more lately the terrible spelling errors both on TV and online. Is there nobody there to "proofread" before these articles are put out there for all to read?? Also, when you have words at the bottom of the screen sometimes when someone is doing a news cast, I constantly see spelling and grammar errors. This never happened ten or twenty years ago. i am looking for help. My name is Tim. I live in midtown Detroit . I am 47 years old. I should tell you that i have some mental health challenges but i am very smart and i know what is going on around me. right now i am very sick . i am recovering after a travel experience with greyhound bus service which i can only describe as continuous incompetence and abuse by staff. I was traveling from Kansas City MO to Detroit MI leaving on the 13th. The first thing is the weather. the weather is turning to colder temperatures that require some maintenance procedures to the buses i would expect but right from the start. my start time had to be moved up a day because their bus broke costing more cab fare and another day in a hotel . would have saved the cab fare if they called me. they did have my contact info.after finally leaving Kansas city it gets very real. the first thing i notice is disorganization everywhere. people not sure where to go and needing assistance from staff . people whos buses havent arrived wanting updates. what i notice over and over that i dont understand is the staff will talk to the passenger any kind of way and there is a shared behavior that is like a trend with the staff all over . i have traveled with greyhound many times in the past and this scared me because i saw it then but now its most all of them. it goes like this. if you have a question for a staff member even at a customer service desk you can ask a question. you will receive a sort of vague answer. if you request any sort of elaboration you are now subject to any type of ridicule. usually making you seem very wrong for even asking the question . i wached it over and over. all the while people say nothing because the threat of the staff putting you out on the street wherever they want is always lurking over your head. i want this behavior exposed. but it gets worse. when we were leaving from St Louis to Indianapolis Indiana's bus depot, or what i call hell , we drove right into a winter deep freeze . we came from where it was warm so we all had on sweaters . our bags with coats and things we could put on are stored underneath the bus. the temperature dropped below freezing very fast. i made my way to the driver and asked him if he could turn the heat on.he said while wrapped in a big blanket " its broke" i said then you have to stop. he didnt. he drove us that way all the way to the station. the lady i was talking to needed medical attention. when we got there , it was a building where the heat is at around fourty degrees. you would think they or someone there would want to help but the behavior you will notice is they try not to help you. when we tried talking to every staff person there the only thing they said was that they were not interested in what happened before we got there. and tried to make us feel stupid for asking as usual. that is normal after the first reply from any one of them. we were only supposed to be there for fifteen minutes . we arrived at two AM. finally a driver i havent seen up to this point walks in and starts addressing us. he says he has info for us. we gather around. he says the earliest we will be leaving there is nine am. which turned out to be another bit of bad information. but when he said this the lady , she was around 65 , African American woman who needed medical attention since we had been there but was made to feel like an idiot for needing it said to the driver " i wont make it until nine. i need a hospital" his reply and you cant make this up is " well the last time i checked when you call 911 and tell them your problems , they tend to listen". my phone gone because of staff attitude of trying to not help , i can do nothing. she sat and just cried hopeless. i went to the bathroom to pull myself together and was going to get her to a hospital somehow. but when i got out of the bathroom she was gone. i think about her now and it was so cold and i hope she made it. i am still very sick. my phone is gone and i reached corporate on a phone when we got to Columbus ohio using a staff member's phone but had to hang up before we were done but they would have some record. i live alone. they have my phone and i contacted them through sociial media on line because i have a computer and i got a very generic response asking for my confirmation number from my ticket. i responded with info but heard nothing back. how can any service industry be this way and not look like it on the surface? remember if you say one wrong thing they will make you walk away . it doesnt matter how the weather is or if youre alone in the middle of the desert you lose and if they have to they call a cop and the officer only knows he is coming because greyhound is a victim of this passenger . this is a lot of power they have. so no one says anything. i know no one is actually gouing to read this but i tried. i wonder what her name was . she was going home to muskegon . i believe she left on the 13th as well. this has to sto read more

Amy Andrews should be assigned to report on scripted information only. Her communication mirrors Cam Karmon. She has a nice smile, however she appears to lack knowledge about basic news topics which is apparent when reporting any unscripted information. All other fox reporters have the knowledge level on news topics to effectively conduct ad lib comments and reporting. Amy obviously doesn't , many of her comments are really off base - like Cam's were for years. I really like fox 2 - however I find it hard to watch when Amy is reporting. read more
