During the trial she was very detailed and took lots of time to make sure that I was happy with the final look, and on the wedding day the whole team that came (we had a large bridal party, and Mink will provide more assistants to the main artist to make sure that you finish on time) was fantastic. What was important for me too was that everyone had very good hygiene standards when doing our makeup, so nobody was worried about cold sores or breaking out from contaminated product. Everyone's hair and makeup held up and we were done very efficiently. Pictures turned out great!! I'd definitely recommend Mink to anyone looking for a mobile hair/makeup service for their wedding party.

After finding our items, we waited in line to check out. A Sephora worker came over to us in the line and asked if we were paying with a card. We said yes and she instructed us to come with her to the "express checkout". She scanned our items and we had a gift card, so she scanned that as well. We had a remaining balance to pay and I first tried tapping my debit card. It told me transaction cancelled. I thought it was strange but didn't think much of it. She then got my mom to try her card and again the transaction was cancelled. Both my mom and I were very confused at this point. After multiple tries there was no luck. The Sephora worker then calls management over. I never got her name but she was a petite blonde with glasses and bright red lipstick. She was *extremely* dismissive and accused our cards for being the issue. She looked like we were annoying her and that there was something wrong with us. She then instructed us to get back in line ( which now has grown to 15 people). From what could have been an in and out Sephora trip, turned into a disaster. The best part was, once we got to the regular cash desk, our cards worked JUST FINE!

I made an appointment to do a shoot with Shimona (who runs Pinup Perfection) on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I drove to White Rock with a bag full of costumes and a bouffant filled with excitement. Shimona was a doll herself, with her cute blonde pin-up hairstyle and dazzling smile, she was super friendly and made me feel totally at ease when I did the shoot. Not everyone can make you feel relaxed when you're just in your skivvies. She was full of creative ideas and different positions for me to try out. Believe me, some of those positions are more difficult to hold than you think! It was like doing yoga in thigh highs! Keep your legs pointed, chest out, stick out your butt, keep your back curved, extend your neck, and smile!! The photos turned out great, and we ended up doing another shoot for a zombie pin-up session at the Police Museum. Before you die, you have to get photos done with this lady because then you'll have some saucy photos to show your grankids when you get old. Look at what a hot number granny was back in the day!

I have no modeling experience, but I didn't have to worry for one second about flailing helplessly in front of the camera - Shimona coached me through minor tweaks and touches that made each pose.... perfection. Everytime my face froze, my fingers stiffened or my tummy relaxed her expert eye caught it and she gently reminded me to adjust. I would like my 10,000 dollar per day supermodel fee now, please? ;) She has costumes and props for all body types - but do note that if your feet are not a size 9 you should bring your own hot shoes - I forgot mine! :( My next big birthday event will definitely be a party at Pin Up Perfection.
