I really love this market because it's so food-focused, which is like "duh" with all the beautiful farms in the immediate vicinity.. but many of the "farmer's markets" I visit at home in DFW are overrun with crafts, so it's nice to be at one that's truly focused on local farmers. We bought fantastic green garlic, onions, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms, kiwis and bananas, apples, grapefruit and oranges, fresh rosemary, orange marmalade and cranberry pepper jam, a white lemon balsamic vinegar, our favorite Valley Ford farmers cheese, a lovely strip steak, and a bouquet of flowers to enjoy during our short visit. I think the tortillas are a must-buy when they are available, they are delicious and come in a variety of unusual colors. As soon as we exited 2 shelties barreled out of the stand and raced up in a very threatening manner. A woman raced behind them , blamed ME for taking the pup out of the car, and said they were trained. She said I should have told her before taking dog out of the car--/ which was at least 25-30 yards away from the entrance the dogs raced out of towards us... I responded they obviously were NOT trained. They did not follow her commands and had to be physically brought inside one at a time while I kept the remaining one away from us My husband bought two ears of corn. We got them home and BOTH have worms in them !! If there was a negative number possible that is what I would give this establishment. Uncontrolled dogs running amok, rude customer service, and worms in the produce guarantee no return for us. I included a picture of one of the worms. The other has crawled back inside the ear of corn for now. We won't be eating either ear.

This is an awesome farmers' market on hwy 116. Produce looked so good, they looked unreal. The place looked so colorful and picturesque, like a movie set. Only sorry we didn't buy more fruit. Great quality and prices seemed fair. The plums and nectarines were not mealy like some grocery store fruit. They were sweet, juicy, and crisp. They didn't last 1 meal. They were devoured that night as dessert after dinner. We also got some yummy chocolate covered caramels and espresso beans. The freeze dried veggie chips were crisp and not stale at all. Mike's Truck Garden may be worth changing my future driving route to the coast.

Pumpkin Patch with the Russian River Valley as backdrop…read more We were driving along the Russian River Valley and saw signs along the road leading to this pumpkin patch so we stopped by to check it out. This is a family-run, community-oriented farm in the Sonoma County. The owner was nice and friendly. During our visit he only required that masks be worn at the check-in tent or when we paid for any purchases towards the end (at exit), other than that we just needed to be mindful of keeping 6-ft distance from other patrons. I forgot to bring my mask with me but they supplied a disposable one and I didn't have to run back to the car. The farm field was pretty big and there are pumpkins everywhere, direction of the field was one way so we followed the path, went through a cornfield (don't worry, it's not a maze) and made our way around until the exit. The pumpkin patch will be operating until Halloween. Enjoy lots of pumpkins, decorative gourds, winter squash and lots more. They don't have a corn maze, or fancy rides and bouncy houses which is okay with me. We enjoyed an authentic farm experience and the beautiful backdrop of the Russian River Valley. Review #2415

I was short on time, and didn't feel like waiting or looking for someone. The location is pretty cool, except the long dirt driveway that is guaranteed to get your car dirty.
