I really enjoyed This Is Winnebagoland, which gave a nostalgic look at the local culture and roots of the area. There are tons of old pictures throughout the house of the town history as well as the Sawyer family. They also host great rotating temporary displays. The highlight for me was getting to explore the Historic Sawyer Home. Walking through the perfectly preserved rooms featuring original Tiffany Studios leaded-glass windows and light fixtures is breathtaking. Make sure you stay for a viewing of The Apostles Clock! Admission is incredibly affordable and the staff is wonderful. If you're a local or just passing through, definitely add this to your itinerary! Plan to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours here to take it all in.

For $3 per order, folks! The cheese fondue was reminiscent of a nice beer cheese soup to me, and the chocolate fondue was dark and decadent. The fest itself was MUCH larger than I had expected. Block after block of pop up booths filled with local restaurants, bars, pet goods, churches, produce, jams and baked goods, vendors like Wildtree and Tastefully Simple, antique shops, custom made clothing, jewelry and more. I also saw a booth selling domestic beer for $2.50! I have the feeling I could have easily made myself miserable with good food and drink for under $15. Entry to the festival and street parking was free, and there were live bands as well. I didn't notice any of the booths taking credit cards, but one of the vendors did mention that she thought you could buy tokens with credit cards at the fest, and the tokens were accepted by vendors.

Beautiful barn. The…read moresheets seemed well maintained. My son said the skating was nice. I thought the facility was great overall for the tournament we attended. It was easily accessible, with a lot of parking and a lot of space inside the building. A couple small complaints... the drop off in the back is nice for the kids, but the road is narrow back there and it bottlenecks. Also, the food was way overpriced and really small portions. You're better off driving down the road and picking something up. We don't live in the area, so likely won't be back until the next tourney. But if you do live here and are looking for a good place to skate, this spot is top notch.
