Perhaps if my experience was not in Richardson, then I would have had a different opinion. I know that there is not really a speeding limit in Texas. I don't drive 25 mph over the speed limit or anything, but I do drive with the rest of the flow of traffic around me. I got a speeding ticket in Richardson, just before I was about to enter the freeway, heading towards 75 north near Renner and Campbell. I contacted Wincour Law, and retained their service for hire. I was expecting the ticket to be dismissed altogether, since I was going the same speed as others around me at the time. Instead, they not only didn't get the ticket dismissed, they only did for me what I could have and should have done myself, apply for deferred adjudication. That would have saved me the $75 I paid to hire them. Plus to make the matter worse, I still pay to pay Richardson $175. This amount would be the same whether I used Wincour, IMHO. If not, then it would have only been $225. The only thing they did for me was get my court date pushed back, and show up at court in my place, so I didn't need to appear. But applying for deferred adjudication could be done entirely online, so I didn't need Wincour. Update: When I actually went to pay the $175 on Richardson's website, there was no option so I still had to pay $225. I should really change this to one star. Plus someone from Wincour tried to email me after this review to try and intimidate me to re-write my review and give better rating--no thanks! read more

I got a ticket for an expired inspection sticker in Dallas earlier this year. It sucked because I was scheduled to move to Boston to start a masters program before the court date on the ticket, so I needed a lawyer to take care of it, and quickly. I called this law firm. I was told they could reschedule court, and even though they said the ticket probably wouldn't get dismissed outright, I stood a good chance of a dismissal after I completed "deferred adjudication." I filled out some paperwork online, and gave them my debit card number over the phone...all while I was waiting to board my flight at DFW! They charged $50.00. I didn't have to go into their office at all, I didn't have to go to court. I was able to do the whole thing remotely. At first I was a little concerned I was getting scammed, but when I landed in Boston I saw they had already sent me a detailed email explaining their entire process. About three weeks later they emailed me about the new court date, and told me I didn't need to be there. That was a huge relief, because it was scheduled right in the middle of my midterms! Ultimately, they negotiated a deal on the ticket, kept it off my record and bought me almost six months to pay it - that makes a huge difference when you're living on Ramen noodles... ;) They even reduced the fine by more than I had to pay them. How cool is that? I thought Winocour Law was great and would use them again in a heartbeat. I had a speeding ticket, failure to update address, and a warrant due to failure to appear in court. Giving those circumstances I was not sure on how much I can do to reduce any of it. I figured I would get an attorney and at the same time I was unsure on what they would be able to do. I think it was great that they represented me in court and obviously probably tried to do what they could do in my best interest. The process was super easy did not have to do much other than keep in touch by email. I did not get the results I was looking for, but it was worth a shot to see what they could do. I do not blame them for the outcome. I am choosing a 2 star due to price. It was a little over $400 to hire them. They reduced a ticket by $100, so in total I paid $300 but in a sense for nothing. Due to If I did not hire them I could have received disposition myself and paid the full fines and it would have saved me the $300 of them sitting in court for me. I received two separate traffic tickets in Dallas. One was for rolling a stop sign and the other was a seat belt ticket. Initially, I thought I could take care of these tickets on my own, but the prospect of dealing with two traffic tickets simultaneously was causing me a bit of anxiety. I came from a small Texas college town, so I thought I could handle these tickets on my own. However, the Dallas Municipal Court was notorious for not giving me a straight answer on how to deal with my tickets. I was worried not only that I would have to pay a fine, but that I would get a ding on my driving record or worst case scenario I would get a mailing 1 or 2 years later for a court date, miss it, and then have a warrant out for my arrest (notwithstanding fines, Dallas Municipal Court is not efficient at all.) At any rate, I retain Jonathan Winocour. One of the best things with Mr. Winocour is I could talk directly to him for a simple traffic ticket, as opposed to a law clerk. The fee was extremely reasonable, and considering he got my seat belt ticket fully dismissed and I only had to pay $120 for the stop sign ticket and got that dismissed too, even though that cop actually did want to testify in court. I'd say all in all it was a good investment to retain this firm, even though this was just a "simple traffic ticket." read more

I'm at school in LA, but Dallas is my home area, and I visit pretty frequently. When I was there last summer I got a speeding ticket. Welcome to Texas, right? I didn't have time to mess with the thing, so after looking online I went with this law firm. Their process was fast and simple. Fill out a form in your browser, submit it, pay with a credit card over the phone, and you're done. When I called a couple of times to check on my case status they were responsive and informed. They emailed me about my court dates, and also warned me to look out for important paperwork from the court. I didn't have to go to court myself, and after about a month I got an email with clear instructions as to what I had to do to make sure the ticket was dismissed and stayed off my driving record. Even better, the original ticket was about $225. They got it reduced to $160, which saved me almost twice what I paid them to handle it. I received a ticket for failure to yield at a stop sign (during the snow and ice storm we just had this past winter in 2015, where I slid at the stop sign). The cop was waiting for people on this side street in Richardson waiting for people to I guess slide when trying to stop so he could give them a ticket, when there were a record amount of accidents on the highway due to the weather conditions that he COULD have been attending to (way to go Texas PD!). Anyway I hired Winocur Law for $50, they did basically nothing except get me deferred adjudication and I still had to pay $190 plus their fee which came out to the same price as the original ticket. I provided this firm with evidence of the traffic conditions, the accidents that day, and I'm sure they just threw it out and didn't mention it or fight for me because I believe this was an unfair ticket. Jonathan Wincour is a fantastic attorney! The girls who answer the phones are very friendly and nice, also.. VERY! I had a case that was in the thousands, and VERY stressful for me. For the TINY fee I paid, Jonathan got my entire case thrown out! I did not have to go to court, I did not have to be arrested to lift the warrant, I did not have to bail out, as you would without a lawyer. I was totally taken care of, even emotionally... Mr. Winocour and his staff were all very helpful, patient and understanding throughout my case. I was involved in a serious auto accident, and desperately needed someone to help with financial recovery. The other driver was underinsured, and there were other factors that made the case more complicated than it initially appeared on the surface. Horrible experience, zero communication and they cost me more than the original ticket. I hired winocour law to handle a non moving traffic ticket. They will quickly get your payment info, and email you that they will take care of everything. That was the only communication I received until the email stating I owe the city of Dallas over $200. My lawyer asked for dismissal and when that wasn't given he automatically ask for deferral which has a higher cost than the original ticket. My lawyer did not consult with me on plan of action just made the decision. When I confronted the law office on the decision that was made they blamed me for not telling them that I wanted to go to trial. Buyer beware, ask questions, and don't assume they're looking after your best interest. My opinion this law firm is after the quick money and doesn't care at all about their clients. read more

I am an attorney and understand the limits of what is possible under the current DPS ticketing system. The Winocour firm was well-reviewed, so I gave them a try and was pleasantly surprised. My speeding ticket was adjudicated, without my need to appear in court, in 2 weeks. They could not lower the amount but they did arrange for deferred prosecution for 90 days without additional requirements. The DPS has an on-line service for payment so the experience was much less time-consuming than in the past. No one walks on a ticket anymore, but it is also simpler to get it resolved. Very disappointed in this so called service. They charged me $115 to defer my ticket and I get a bill saying I still have to pay $311 to the city for my ticket. That's almost $200 more than I would have payed initially. When I spoke with the lady she said "we got your ticket reduced $40..." Thanks that makes me feel better. Regarding traffic tickets - unless you have a complicated issue or need more time, save your money and take care of your ticket yourself. I paid $70 hoping that the court fee would be reduced and I'd get deferred adjudication...I got the deferment but I also have the same fee I was quoted from the court before I retained Winocour. I could have paid the court fee and chosen deferment myself three months ago; I could have been done with the deferment by now. Also, the communication isn't the best. I had to ask if they received my information through their portal three times before I got an answer. I had to call and follow up on the disposition of my case because I should have received it but hadn't; they had to follow up with the court, but should I have had to call to make that happen? What did I pay for? Also, they blasted my email inbox with about a dozen or more of the same emails one day; it must have been a glitch but super annoying. read more

Same result as another reviewer on here.... Do not waste your time if its a traffic ticket. Do not recommend. I am really disappointed at the outcome. I hired them to represent me for a speeding ticket since I don't live in the area. With a clean record and no prior speeding tickets at this rate i thought for sure I could get something better than a no contest or guilty plea and paying the fine. Now I'm out the attorney fee, the fine and my insurance will raise. If there was no chance of it resulting in a different outcome they shouldn't have taken the case. Seeing as they are a law firm in the area you'd think they knew over 10% speeding is not eligible for defensive driving or deferral....I did and I didn't even live there so I hired them to do something I could have just done myself thinking they could get a different result. I received a citation on 02/20/17 and decided to hire Winocour law. What a waste of money. First I I paid the 40.00 bucks to hire the attorney .A few weeks later I was opening my mail on a Friday afternoon I noticed correspondence from another law firm letting me know they could get my warrant lifted for me .I almost fell out of my seat. I then promptly called the Dallas city courts to inquire about my case. I was told I had a warrant issued for failure to appear in court. I then called Winocour law to find out what happened. The receptionist was going to check and call me right back. Well she did not call me back and the business was closed for the weekend. Well here I was scheduled to do out of town on business with an active warrant. I have never had a warrant in my life so I was scared to death. Finally Monday morning I called again and the receptionist said there had been a mix up and the attorney was scheduled to appear on Wednesday before the court to clear things up. I sent several email requesting a call but had not received any communication to update me on the status of my warrant. I finally called the court to find out the warrant had been lifted. Then today I did get a notice telling me that my case was deferred and was ordered to pay the original ticket amount of 225.00 .Why did I hire them I could have requested a deferred ticket myself and saved me the aggervation,$40.00 and possible arrest with the failure to appear warrant .DO NOT USE THIS FIRM THEY ARE INCOMPENENT AND PROVIDE NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE CLIENTS. If the competing law office had not sent the warrant letter out I would still be Driving around not knowing I had warrant .I want my 40 bucks back!!! read more

I highly recommend Winocour law if you are ever in an auto accident. I was first introduced to Jonathon Winocour about 20 years ago when my sister was hit by a drunk driver. While I was hoping for this result, I certainly could not have anticipated it and I have nothing but great things to say about this firm. My son has gotten back into school and has completely turned his life around.
