I get the Winn-Dixie in Callahan and Hilliard mixed up, but this review is regarding the pharmacy and store on Hwy 1 in Hilliard, Florida, so here goes:
First of all, the store is in the perfect location for those of us that live on the state line, which brings me to my review. First of all, I'm a traumatic brain injury patient so my medications can be difficult to obtain, especially when my doctors are in Jacksonville. This particular month I had a video visit with my provider and I asked if I could have my scripts called in closer to me. My request was obliged and I requested this store's pharmacy since they had the BEST prices I've seen EVER. My only fear was getting turned away because of the type of meds I take as well as having never filled there. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the pharmacist began asking questions. I found her questioning extremely professional and direct, as pharmacies have the absolute right to decline any "flagged" scripts. I was not offended because I would be delusional to think a pharmacy will simply fill scripts with no questions asked. I explained to the pharmacist that with the recent inflation I'm trying to save money at all costs and getting it there would save me another 1.5 hours of driving, not to mention I would be saving HUNDREDS of dollars! I wish I'd known about Winn-Dixie's pharmacy prices sooner. More importantly, I was so relieved and grateful the pharmacy treated me with respect and like a human being. A lot of pharmacies will simply lie and say they don't have the meds, or some even look down on you for having certain conditions. Honestly, I assumed that would happen here but I'm happy to say I was wrong. It's sad when we are so used to being underserved that an act of normalcy catches us off guard. I humbly expressed my gratitude to the pharmacist and her tech, telling them it's been a difficult month with my condition cost wise and they had no idea much they have saved me. I was not offended at her thorough line of questioning because nefarious people mess it up for everyone trying to obtain illegal prescriptions. I encouraged to please keep doing what she's doing, because there really are honest people out there that have a legit script and reason for suddenly choosing a new pharmacy and just want the opportunity to be heard. Most pharmacies pre-judge and turn people away. This one didn't and that means everything to those of us struggling to pay for our meds. My apologies for the long review but if it helps one person ever in my extenuating circumstances, that's good enough for me.
Kudos to this store and its pharmacy. Btw, the store itself is immaculate and fully stocked, has FRESH produce and extremely polite employees. To say I was doubly impressed is an understatement. I highly recommended checking them out. They earned a customer here! read more
