Burger runn Cheesesteak…read more I've been told repeatedly to try the cheesesteaks here. On a previous visit I had the burgers and I thought they were very good. Though at my visit today I discovered they use Martin's potato rolls for the burgers. The place was a former deli and is tiny. I was greeted at the door and they took my order. Cheesesteak fried onions provolone. My go to order. The floor is tiled and slippery and I almost fell several times. It was around 4:15 so I thought I beat the dinner rush but apparently everyone orders from here on DoorDash or Uber Eats. At least a dz orders were picked up while I was waiting. I thought the wait was a little long.... But I stood there waiting for my sandwich. Finally a woman from the back come up front to address a problem with a chicken order and asked what I was waiting for.... A cheesesteak I replied and the counter woman that took my order grabbed a bag that was sitting in the pickup pile and handed it to me Alex? She asked yes I replied. I took my sandwich and got into my truck. At a red light I reached over to feel the bag... it was Luke warm. I expected my sandwich to be piping hot. Ggggggrrrrrrr. That is why I ordered at the place but the nearly 30 minute wait with the undetermined amount of time it was on the to go counter will you get the picture. On my arrival at home I opened the sandwich and snapped a photo. At this point it was barely warm. I prepared it with ketchup, hot pepper hoagie spread and my last slices sweet horseradish dill pickles. The first bite was underwhelming. Barely warm and the roll which was supposed to be sarcone's tasted more like amoroso. Onions were diced into fine cubes and I prefer more than the tiny amount provided. Overall taste was good but because it was nearly cold hard to actually evaluate. The overall sandwich had enough meat and a good meat to bread ratio. I found no trace of fat or grizzle. Maybe if circumstances were better I would have been happier but it did not reach the hype.

The young lady explained the menu to me which helped me to decide. I did feel bad for her because it was pretty cold inside! Might explain the cold fries. I will definitely try SmashBros again but when it's a little warmer outside.

I am not sure why people think you can be rude to customers and stay in business, their are about 20 different places within a stones throw of this place, at least two I know of that also serve chicken. I will not frequent a business that is rude to their customers when I can simply turn around and go to the one next door that is not rude.

Umm - I had a terrific experience! It was not a tale of two cities, but rather a tour de force as I displayed my "shocked face" four times, for four different reasons: 1 - not just that there's a bar (see also: Rock, living under), but it's a full service bar with 30 beers on tap. 30!!! And they support at least one local brewery, BoneSaw. Nice! 2 - service: the folks working seemed friendly and good at what they do. My bartender was Ki and exceptionally pleasant. She was patient and informative about all things BWW. Very attentive! 3 - pricing: I thoroughly digested the menu and any printed material in reach while imbibing. The prices seemed reasonable to me and on par with similar casual dining experiences. 4 - specials: I'm told this aspect of the business has been recently revamped. I am here for it! Half priced appetizers M-F from 3:00-6:00 and everyday after 9:00PM. Yay! Also, there are drink specials too (see pic). They seem to have specific day-of-the-week specials too! Good memories. So I'll admit it: I walked in with low expectations. My wife dropped me off while she went shopping. Word-of-mouth hadn't exactly sold me. It was freezing outside, and I figured I'd just kill some time. Turns out, I was wrong. The beer selection is huge. Not just long for the sake of being long, but a tap list that actually makes you pause and think about what you're ordering. That alone already puts this place on solid footing. Because of the cold, I kept it simple and ordered soup--and it was very, very good. Hot, comforting, and done right. No gimmicks. Just solid food when you need it most. House of Brews didn't just fill the space left behind--it improved it. I went in expecting not much and left pleasantly surprised. That's always a good sign.
