My girlfriend planned a date night at Wine & Design at the Jacksonville location, she booked the Wine & Design site for the couple date night painting session & we were hard-pressed to squeeze in all the food and drinks. The staff was very helpful in helping throughout the session. Our artist was AMAZING and I cannot say enough good things about her, It has been a while since I have painted and not only was she patient with us twice, she was kind and upbeat, encouraging to the beginners, and able to keep a class of few distracted tipsy artists want-to-be on track. The concept is simple: Before the session, the group selects a picture, or if you are attending a class on your own, you pick out a class that is painting a picture you like. (The online calendar shows you what is coming up). The cost per person is around $35, from reading a few reviews; Groupons come up often. This covers quick-dry acrylic paint, a canvas, and the studio will supply brushes and an apron to protect your clothes. Don't wear anything you love though - paint can and will splatter, especially as the wine starts flowing. The studio will sketch an outline on canvas of your painting (basic lines only) and your artist will walk you through the steps of creating the painting. Everyone in class makes the same painting, but they all come out a little differently. You bring your own wine and snacks. At some point, you dip your paintbrush into your wineglass. You laugh. You create art. Paint and wine flow freely. What is created is great art in your own way and it is a great fun activity to do as a couple or by yourself. I just fell in love with this place!! I have been looking at going for a long time but trying to get others in when your ready is a task because everyone has lives and bills. The class I took was $50 but painting runs around $35. To some this may be money not well spent but to me it's a place that gives me peace and I enjoy spending that time making something that I'll have for a long long time. Or maybe give it as a gift to someone else. This afternoon they were having a resin class! I've always wanted to try this do I made a reservation for myself, got there to find I was only one!! That was kinda cool.. so me and the very sweet lady that runs it both picked out a pattern and sat down to do our projects. I had an amazing time. She and her husband are wonderful people! They do kids camps during the summer, you can buy a paint kit to take home and do, in fall they make all kinds of projects with the fat yarn.. they have a lot more than paintings. They also are very quick to get back to you on fb messenger or you can call and they can help get you whatever your looking for. They have a whole wall of paintings they do in classes and you can even come in during the day and just paint one of those it is a very open creative place! Can not wait to go back! When you see the word "Wine" in the name of the brand/company, you would assume Wine would be available, right? Breaking News, it's not! Should be renamed to "BYOW & Design" I was under the impression that this establishment would have Wine, but I was disappointed to find out that I would have to bring my own. What's the point of having Wine in the name, just call it Design. Moving on from the name, the Experience was good! This location didn't have a party, fun atmosphere. The artist was nice and knowledgeable and helpful! If you are planning on making this a fun and exciting experience, make sure you bring it with you...along with the Wine. No beverages, snacks are provided. The cost covers your Canvas and paint. I would go to Accidental Artist in town to paint pottery, before coming back to Wine and Design. Best wine and design i have ever been to. The staff were super nice and really knew their stuff. I cant paint but i left there with the best painting i have ever done. They are really friendly and nice makes Mr Rodgers seem like Maj Pain. They help you outline if you arent that good at painting. They also are really good about encouraging you to make the painting different than what you see...if you want something different then restaurant go here it is worth the time and money. read more

I went last night with a friend. We really enjoyed learning how to replicate the artwork. My one complaint is that the music played was sexually explicit and not enjoyable for what should have been more of a family-appropriate/ calming atmosphere. read more
