We even got to meet the owner who was working behind the bar. Ambiance is cool. They have a little shop area that you can buy local art work, soaps, and jewelry. They have a sitting area with just couches and a table. There are various board games you can play. There are different types of seating. You can sit at the bar, high top bench area, normal dining area with chairs, or sit in front of the ramen bar and watch her chef it up! The food was ok. I give this a 5 star review because my partner was obsessed with the ramen bowl and the sushi (i didn't get a picture of the sushi unfortunately). The corn dip was great. It had a lot of flavor but i will say, the portion size was off. Not happy about how little dip we got. There were tons of left over chips. The chips tasted like they were made in house. The old fashioned was great. We opted for the in house bourbon. The espresso martini was a disappointment. The size of this was very small for the price. I even asked the owner about this, and he informed me it was an illusion based on the shape of the glass. I don't believe that because i was barely buzzed. It also didn't come with a rim like stated in the drink description. The India power bowl was also a huge let down. I opted for quinoa. The butter chicken, chickpeas, and quinoa were super dry. Not very impressed. It didn't have much Indian spice flavor. Best to stick to the sushi and the ramen bowl.

We stopped in for a bite of lunch and ended up spending half the afternoon! Amazing wine and beer selection and very creative food menu. The place is actually a collective - with various independent small businesses under the same roof. They make it easy to open a single tab and purchase from multiple places but pay all at once. Service was amazing - welcoming and very helpful to orient us to how to order. Warm, friendly and professional throughout our stay. The business area in historic downtown Cumberland is undergoing major work on the street and sidewalks - but it was easy to find free parking nearby and had no problem finding our way here. A really memorable place and great people - highly recommend if you are in Cumberland and looking for good food and a pleasant experience!

The service is excellent, kind and friendly staff are there with a smile to give recommendations on menu items. The fish and chips and burgers are excellent. And (as pictured) the appetizers and side salads are generous. Getting fries? Try the hand-cut. Old fashioned and spectacular, they are! Nice lady - took our drink order and we looked over the menu. They have plenty of options from traditional bar food to some different entrees - but with it being lunch on a weekday I decided for something more standard. Ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap with sweet hot as my tender sauce, and Mac and cheese as my side dish. The food came out somewhat quickly. The wrap however was very sparse in terms of the amount of chicken in it - I would say between the two halves of the wrap there may have been one? tender cut up. The sweet hot sauce was good - more on the sweet side but good. The mac and cheese side came in a very large bowl by side standards - and on first first I figured it would be a white cheese stronger flavor. However - the cheese didn't really have any flavor at all. I usually polish anything out in front of me, but found that this needed some sort of seasoning and or cheese flavoring. Could have been a bad batch and not their usual output. Service was good, food was ok. Would try again - definitely worth a trip. Just would like to see more in the wrap and flavor in the cheese.

I will say that the wait staff is fine and deserves a fair amount of grace. They can only do so much. If I were the owner I would fire the kitchen manager, the bar manager, and myself out of embarrassment. The entire system needs thrown out and redone. Perhaps just sell the building to someone who actually cares about the business and wants to make proper changes. Once again, the food took forever to come out, and after well over two hours we only got two of four items ordered. The quality of the food was fair to poor at best. You will never find yourself craving anything from here. Then you have the poorly stocked bar. They ran out of three things while we were there. All before 8pm on a Saturday. Their whisky selection is embarrassing for a place with a Cigar Lounge. At this point we will only go back for events and we will be either eating before or just taking our own food to eat there. Probably our own drinks too since they can't seem to do that right. Mismanaged. Uninspired. Underwhelming. Embarrassing. Wasteful. Shameful.

Honestly one of the worst experiences at a bar that I've ever had. I went on the night of July 4th…read more The music was good, but too loud in my opinion. Customers had to practically scream to one another to be heard. This made it also difficult for getting bartenders and customers to interact. I personally had to repeat myself several times to be heard over the music just to make sure my order was right. And I didn't order anything difficult. Just two Coronas. The limes were cut WAY too thick to be put in a corona bottle. It was also unsanitary, as the bartenders didn't use tongs or anything to retrieve the limes. They picked it up with their bare hand, and stuffed the tips into the bottle. I never saw either bartender wash their hands between serving drinks, touching bottles, credit cards, handling money, and touching the fruit that goes in certain drinks. Like the limes in my Corona. That's disgusting. Wash your hands or wear gloves when touching food. My third round of Coronas was my last. The bartenders had grown increasingly rude to the customers. When I asked for the third round of Coronas, one of the bartenders asked if we wanted lime. I responded, "only in 1 please." So the bartender responded, "make up your mind." Like... What?! So I said "1 with lime 1 without. I don't want a lime." She then said something about being difficult. At this point I was getting irritated. But I completed my transaction and said thank you. After a few minutes, we watched the two bartenders stomp around with attitudes being nasty with all the customers. The blonde with her hair in a pony tail was taking the order of two girls and everything they were asking for, the bartender told them they couldn't make that, or didn't have the stuff for it. So after 15 seconds, while the girls were still ordering, the bartender raises her right hand in from of them, does a closing motion with it, and says "no." She then turned to a guy at the end of the bar and took his order. The girls that had been ordering just stared at the bartender, and were in disbelief. It was the worst professionalism from a bartender that I've ever seen. I witnessed both (the second bartender was a short lady with greyish/blonde short hair) bartenders act rude, snippy, and unprofessional towards customers. At some point, the bartender with short hair disappeared from the bar leaving just 1 bartender back there with a whole bar top full of people wanting drinks. So you can imagine how long it took to get a drink. The bartender had people waiting for a drink at the bar for over 20-25 minutes. At 12:59am she shut it down. Turned the lights on and said everyone had to leave. There was no fighting inside, no arguments, nothing! Just loud music, dancing, and people ordering drinks. Maybe this spot isn't use to so many people being there, but people paid a $5 cover to get in. If you're getting close to capacity, stop letting people in. If you don't have the capability to serve as many guests as were there, then bring on more bartenders to cut down on customer wait times. For the size of the crowd, you needed atleast 3 bartenders working the bar top. Waiting over 25 minutes to get a drink and then receiving horrible service is NOT COOL! Word of advice- fire the two women I'm referring to. Absolutely horrible. Your business could do so much better without them. You had the opportunity to make so much money with all the people there ordering drinks. But your bartenders were bitches and couldn't handle the crowd. It's one thing to feel stressed and understaffed during a rush like that, but always be professional. Customers will be a lot more understanding and patient. I enjoy trying new places and had never been to this place before, but unfortunately due to the service, I don't ever want to go back there. Between the cover charge and drink sales, I bet on July 4th Woodchux made more money in one night than a few nights combined. It's sad they treated their customers the way they did.

My husband and I were traveling on I-68 near…read moreCumberland, MD, and needed a lunch stop that would be restful (from driving) but also relatively fast as we still had a few hours of driving ahead of us. We were seated quickly at the Applebee's, and decided to order from their 2 for $25 menu; as usual, we would split the food. This is A LOT of food for $25 -- a full-sized appetizer to share, plus two full-sized entrees. We ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip as our appetizer (usually $12.99), which is topped with Parmesan cheese and served with white corn tortillas and chipotle lime salsa. I ordered the new O-M-Cheeseburger (normally $11.99), that featured a juicy, all-beef burger, topped with American cheese, Applewood-smoked bacon, and spicy honey mustard, served in a sizzling skillet of molten queso and a blend of cheddar cheese. I selected the garlic mashed potatoes as my side. My husband ordered a Grilled Oriental Chicken Salad (usually $16.99), which features grilled chicken on a bed of Asian greens, crunchy noodles, and almonds tossed in an Oriental vinaigrette. It's served with a breadstick that has been brushed with buttery garlic and parsley. Food. (Rating: 4/5). Our appetizer (5/5) arrived within five minutes of our order, and it was very tasty. The entrees were delivered before we had finished the appetizer. Since we would be splitting our entrees, we were pleased to see that the burger was already cut in half with both pieces served in the molten cheese. While the O-M-Cheeseburger (4/5) was tasty, we'll probably go back to a traditional cheeseburger for future orders as our entree was somewhat messy and had too much cheese for our tastes. The garlic mashed potatoes were AMAZING, and were also good dipped in the molten cheese. We were so full after eating the appetizer and the burger entree that we opted to take the second entree, the salad, as take-out. We ate the salad (3/5) the next day. While we both tend to like sweet things, the dressing was far too sweet for both of our tastes. Quantities and value were excellent, but most food at Applebee's is a nutritional bomb. Even the GRILLED oriental chicken salad has 1440 calories, while the O-M-Cheeseburger came in at 1680 calories. Our waitress was excellent, and we had finished our relaxing lunch within 45 minutes (within our goal). We would eat here again.
