Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives July 15th, 2018 I don't know where to put this review! The Allegany County Fairgrounds doesn't have a Yelp page. The Highlands American Music Series Stage doesn't have a Yelp page. So, I'll credit 91.9 WFWM Frostburg State University (and be the first). This was a very unique and pleasant experience. We drove down from Pittsburgh on a whim not knowing what to expect. It had been 30 years since I've been to a County Fair (I never attended a concert at a county fair). We got there early and took in some of the fair happenings .... pet some cows and goats, looked at patriotic apparel, ate a corndog. They were only selling grandstand tickets at the ticket booth. We were directed to an office to purchase seats in 'pit area'. They were using a poster board diagram to assign seats (literally writing our names on the designated seats). "Any requests? Don't be shy. It's not like this is Carnegie Hall. The least I can do is play you a few songs since y'all sitting in dirt" - Marty Stuart I don't mind sitting in the dirt, but the folding chairs took a toll on my body (we sat down way too early). However, there was plenty of space to move around outside of the seated area where you wouldn't disturb anyone by standing or dancing. We guessed there were 500 seats in the in the pit (90% occupancy this particular show). MAYBE, another 500 people were in the grandstand. The sound perfect. An older crowd, but very appreciative and accommodating. I get the feeling these concerts are a big event for this quaint community. No doubt I'll be back
