Hipster Paradise. Was recommended here by a couple friends so decided to finally check it out. Saw all the reviews of how good the coffee was so ordered a Long Black. I'm a tough critic with black coffee at random cafes, and usually what happens is I think it's too acidic and bold for my taste- neither was the case here. I was pleasantly surprised and I enjoyed my brew. Also ordered the avocado toast. It was good. Toast was good and the ratio of the avocado was fair. I really liked how chili flakes was sprinkled on top...I love food with kick. Although, lots of oilve oil was drizzled on top, which next time, I'll opt out of. Oh, and it was my lucky morning b/c I lucked out on an extra slice of toast with my order =) It was interesting that there was a DJ playing. Don't usually have that around many cafes. I enjoyed it. Good energy and he played good music. There's wifi and a password provided, but connection wasn't very good. Overall, I liked the place and thought it was good. I give it a 3 star and not a 4 because I'd only come if I was in the neighborhood. *There is no bathroom.

Wooden seating, more comphy than it looks

At first this cafe didn't look very relaxing as the seating is hard wooden benches and just the wall to lean against, but the music and decor come together really well and it's very relaxing after all. They produce London Fields radio station here, surprisingly from a tiny spot in the corner, certainly adds a special uniqueness to the cafe. The mocha I had was creamy and indulgent, and the array of pastries looked very inticing, I would head back here again when I'm next in the area.

It's no fair that the City gets so many good coffee shops which close promptly at 5pm and don't…read moreopen at weekends :( I managed to pop into Association recently after it popped up as one of the top-rated places on the London Coffee app - it's nestled away on Creechurch Lane and it's pretty easy to miss. It's a reasonably roomy place (well, compared to a lot of artisan coffee shops) with a hint of mood lighting (and bare brick walls, of course) and would be a nice place to hang out with someone for a couple of hours. As for me, I chilled out with some Katakana practice because that's how I roll (and they sell a number of Japanese coffee equipment items). Association use Square Mile for their espresso-based coffees and they were using Workshop beans for their filters - as such, I'm guessing (although I may be off) that the filters will be fairly light and complex in character. I'm less of a fan of tea-style filters so I went for a long black. I generally enjoy Square Mile's espresso blends, but this was probably the best one I've had in town so far - absolutely spot on in terms of balance. The staff were pretty chilled out too - I was quite surprised that the overall vibe was really relaxed considering its location. Unfortunately I could only stay for one but I'll definitely want to come back again for longer.

I really like this as a cafe! I got there during a lull (around 9 am) and was able to snag a table…read morein the back, perfect to work and to hold a meeting at. Food/drinks: Tea was excellent (I had both mint and sencha). Coffee and cakes seemed to be enjoyed by my colleagues. Didn't see any gluten free options. Service: Efficient, helpful. Ambiance: This is the selling point. It's modern and beautiful, with interesting wood, brick, tiles. There are coat racks and a mix of tables seating 3-4, a communal table, and a little bar seating area too. It did get very dull around 10 am, so I think it's all about timing. Would happily return.

I am so disappointed that I have only just learned about this wonderful cafe!! I travel to London…read moreperiodically for work. On my last visit, a coworker told me about this little gem, which is not far from Lloyd's. It was a freezing cold day, I didn't have a coat, but I still went on the journey to Konditor & Cook. They have such a huge variety of cakes, brownies, and other sweet treats, along with coffees and other beverages. I got the lemon cake, which came highly recommended - it was amazing! I also had a hot chocolate (I don't drink coffee often), but my coworker had a latte and it looked good. This shop is now on my regular rotation in London...it's always a great day when you have cake for lunch!

I always stop into Konditor & Cook on the back of the Gherkin for a little treat when I'm craving…read moresome good homemade food. I know they are typically known for their cakes but the lunches here give you quick access to homemade classic dishes. I usually get the enchilladas, chili con carne, fish pie (super good!) or one of the daily quiches. The menu changes daily and there is rarely a time I don't find something to drool over. If you go I highly recommend the Boston Brownie, Raspberry Chequerboard Cake and the Millionaire Shortbread from the bakery. My only issue: Take the mushrooms out of the Mac n Cheese! Seriously, who puts mushrooms in mac n cheese???
