Chiswick is an upmarket suburb of central London, so don't come here for cheap beer or food. The Tabard is a very nice place with an excellent range of real ales, hand-pumped or bottled, from Britain and from abroad. But a pint of regular British ale can cost as much as UKP 4.00, which is expensive for a venue outside of the immediate tourist area. Foreign ales can be up there at UKP 5.50. Or higher.
The upside is the pub itself, which offers very cozy and amiable seating inside and out. There are several secluded booths so you can have a chat with your friends without disturbing everyone else. Generally speaking, there's much more room than the building seems to suggest. Staff are knowledgeable and efficient.
Gets busy on weekends, especially the outside area, which is cordoned off from the street. Thankfully, the otherwise VERY busy Bath Road gets quieter towards the evening.
As suggested above, this pub offers frequent stand-up performances and music.
