I found a serious lack of ethical care, especially around informed consent and communication. Procedures were done without clear explanation or discussion of options, and I was not involved in decisions about my treatment. The billing was confusing and non-transparent, with unexpected double charges (one for the doctor, one for the clinic - both, overpriced). When I raised concerns, the response was slow, dismissive and disrespectful towards the patient, including repeatedly mischaracterising reasons for concern. This isn't about my diagnosis or outcome--it's about respecting patients' rights to clear, honest information and involvement in their care. Unacceptable.

For one thing, it's open 'til 8 pm on weeknights and it opens on saturday mornings, meaning you don't have to take time off work to consult a doctor. They also have a service which allows you to book your appointment online, which is handy as the phone is often engaged. Since moving into the area in June, I've always found it easy to get an appointment within a couple of days. The first time, I wanted advice on vaccinations I would need to travel to China and got an appointment that afternoon. I was seen by a lovely nurse who advised me on the vaccines I'd need, worked out the cheapest way for me to get them, and administered them there and then! When I went to consult a doctor, I found him attentive and friendly, which put me at my ease immediately. There's a chemist right next door too, making it easy to get your prescriptions. If you need a doctor in Wandsworth, this is the place to go!

Let's call this as it is: I paid £65 for someone to strong-arm my naked body, manipulating it to dull my muscular pain, albeit momentarily. Sometimes, that's what you're looking for. What was, I think, several separate towers, have been joined by a lofty atrium. There's now seating areas on the ground floor where you can sit in peace. Up above you can see bridges crossing the space on each floor. It's futuristic and wonderfully calm. I believe they hold free concerts in there too. I come into the hospital from London Bridge. One thing to note is that the entrance that way (via a pedestrian walkway from the station: ask station staff to direct you), is actually on the second floor. If you don't remember that on your way out and head down to the ground floor it makes it just a little confusing!

As is the case with the Massage Centre. Booking was easy. I popped in one day and was able to get an appointment soon - the next day if I wanted. The space is clean and relaxing unlike other spas in the area (South Beach, Luminis (fka Dove Spa)) where the spa is loud and hectic and, god for bid, the therapy rooms are located below street-level and the constant creaking of floor boards completely ruins any therapy you are paying your hard earned cash for. My therapist was knowledgeable, used appropriate pressure, and provided me with stretching techniques to help reduce the stiffness and tension in my upper back. So, all of this was great. The other great thing about my therapist was that she did not pressure me to book massages every two weeks or even every month. She had a brain on her shoulders and understands how expensive a two-week massage regimen wold be. I mean, wouldn't we all get massages every two weeks if we could afford it? I bet Kim Kardashian gets a massage daily but you know what? I'm not Kim Kardashian. I'm just a normal person with bad posture from banging away on the computer writing Yelp reviews all damn day. Nothing ruins a relaxing experience more than being made to feel bad about not treating your body awesomely by getting massages every two weeks. And I'm happy to report that no one at TMC made me feel bad about not getting a massage every two weeks. So, thanks, TMC!

He first checked to make sure that I hadn't thrown anything major and then proceeded to undo all the tension in my lower back, allowing me to be able to stand like a man not a penguin. Great staff and I felt very well cared for while in a very vulnerable position.
