First of all I'd like to say that pedicures in this country leave much to be desired. Not sure if it's poor qualification of technicians or laid-back attitude of customers who accept bad service but pedicures here are horrible! Most foreigners would sign up to this statement.
My pedicure at Footopia was no exception. What they do, can be done at home with the same result and for free. Some nail filing (which wasn't even required as I maintain the length and shape of my toenails myself anyway), a little bit of foot buffing (I couldn't even feel it - so lightly it was done), some foot scrub, something that was supposed to be cuticle work and nail polish.
What I look for in a pedicure is a good cuticle work! I was left with ragged cuticles which were just pulled at with blunt nippers. I also had some dry skin on place of healed blisters on my toes (if you know what I mean) - these were left as they were, to say nothing of my heels - the technician didn't even try to reach there. But I had two coats of nail polish painted on my toes - right next to ragged cuticles and dry skin. Beautiful job :(
Paid £45.00 for this horror. Could have done better job myself. What I actually do most of the time anyway.
On top of that I was very unlucky to be sitting next to another customer, a rather rude lady who allowed herself some nationalistic remarks towards me and her technician sided with her on those. Outrageous. Very, very bad experience. read more
