Called Wilson Painting because I needed my brand new deck stained (after 9 months of letting the pre-treated lumber dry out). Gave him a beautiful blank pallet to stain (deck is 950 square feet) and now it is ruined. When he came out for the estimate, I was told they would be using a paint brush to apply both coats of stain- this application procedure was important to me.
I was home when they started to stain the deck and they pulled out a pump up sprayer and started applying the stain. It turned out HORRIBLE- uneven runs of stain, blotchy spots- and they even did not move everything off the deck and stained around it! After several days of complaining and arguing my case about how the stain was not applied correctly nor evenly, he finally agreed it was an unacceptable job and stripped the deck (thus causing more stress on my brand new wood). After applying the harsh chemicals to strip the stain, he stained the deck again. It looked ok at first, but after several weeks my deck has started to turn black. After consulting with a paint professional, I was told he did not clean/neutralize the deck as he was supposed to after stripping the shotty stain job. This has caused my $10,000 deck to turn black. He tried to blame the Sherwin Williams product, Superdeck. The Sherwin Williams rep took a sample and sent it to get tested. The report showed it was not product failure, but error in application. After giving Zeke several weeks/months to remedy the situation he has disappeared and will not return any calls or texts, or send me my final invoice showing I paid in full. DO NOT USE THESE THIEVES!!!!! LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!! Don't make the same mistake I did! read more
