Also they were meticulous about cleaning up as they went and and before they left everyday. The work way exceeded my expectations!!! I had a small issue no fault of theirs just some miscommunication and it was handled respectfully and fast. I could go on and on my only regret is that it has taken me this long to write the review. I used them twice on two different projects. I was mourning the death of my dog and they were compassionate without being overbearing. I will certainly be calling them for any future projects big or small.

It would be dry for a week then it would rain and he would claim that's why he didn't come. Our slab wasn't even framed straight. There are low spots all over and then they came back and skim coated it with a different colored concrete. Unprofessional. Rude. Unacceptable work. He tried to blame the issues on a lack of draining in our yard but it would dry out and he would wait until it rained and use that as an excuse.

This place did a residential concrete driveway for me last spring (2023), and in less than a year,…read moreit started falling apart. It started out with a few small hairline cracks, which the owner, Roland, came out (after several no shows) to look at, and he said that all of that was "normal," that nothing was wrong with the driveway, and assured me that it wouldn't get any worse. And that if it did get worse, then he "stands by his work no matter what." It's not only gotten worse, but the entire driveway is now slowly falling apart. New cracks keep popping up and are all getting bigger and wider, chunks of concrete are coming up, etc. Before Roland came out, I had 3 other driveway companies come out and look at it, and they all came to the same conclusion that the entire job was done way incorrectly and needed to be redone, and they all stated the exact same reasoning for it, and that it was only going to steadily keep getting worse and worse otherwise. And so far, that's exactly what's been happening. I didn't tell any of them about any of the issues I was having until after they gave me their assessment. I told Roland about that after he insisted that nothing was wrong with the driveway when he came out, and his response to that was, verbatim, "Bullshit! They're just trying to score an easy job!" despite the fact that 2 of the 3 places that came out recommended that I give Stevens Construction a chance to fix their own bad job first, before moving forward with anything else. Every single time he says he's going to get back to me at any and every stage of this whole disaster, I've had to chase him down until he eventually answers his phone, and then he just feeds me another line until I have to chase him down again. His word means literally nothing, and his work standards are non-existent, in my opinion. Fast forward a couple months after he came out and said it wouldn't get worse, and it's several times worse. Every day the cracks get wider, a new chunk of concrete is coming up, the concrete on each side of the biggest crack gets less flush to where it's eventually going to be a series of small speed bumps, I have a random hole in the middle of the driveway now, because the job was really that bad, and even the joints aren't even remotely straight. I'm not exaggerating when I say that literally anyone could look at this and instantly see what an incredibly trash job it was. You can stand on one side of the driveway and look at the joint going across, and all except maybe one of them are slanted at a super noticeable crooked angle instead of being in a straight line across the driveway. They're not only not done in the right places, but they only used half as many as they were supposed to, according to all 3 of the other driveway companies that came out and looked at it. Roland sent a guy out a couple months ago, and even that guy said that this was a bad job and was beyond what he could fix. This guy seemed pretty honest, and he wasn't involved with the driveway's original installation. He said he was going to get with Roland to figure out what to do, and said that if I didn't hear anything in a week or two, to start calling. As you probably guessed, I never heard anything back, and the driveway continues to get worse, so I called, and Roland says, "I thought he came out and fixed that!?" so I had to go over all that with him again, and then he asked for me to send him pics. After I sent a bunch of pics and a video, he said he would be in touch. I text him a couple weeks later, he says his concrete supplier is looking over the job, and that he'll be in touch. Big surprise, almost 3 weeks later, and I still haven't heard anything. So I call him again, and he tells me he doesn't think I have a problem, all while the same issues that he assured me wouldn't get worse, and have gotten exponentially worse since then, and continue to do so daily, along with the rest of the driveway falling apart too. In my opinion this dude is just a pathological liar and a scammer. I refuse to believe that someone is this dumb and incompetent. I think he knows it was a terrible job and is just too cheap to fix it. So after he tells me he doesn't think I have a problem, I tell him he needs to come out here and look at it and see how badly it's falling apart, and that he needs to stop jerking me around like he's been doing all year because this thing is literally falling apart more and more every day, and his response to that was to tell me to go get a lawyer. So that's what I'm doing now. I guess this guy thinks I'm just going to eat $15,000 and buy the used car salesman act that he puts on, because his work is total trash. Bottom line is don't waste your time with this scumbag company. They do complete trash work, and then the owner will gaslight you all day long hoping you'll just go away when you try to get him to fix the result of his own incompetence and negligence.
